Many of our own members have had the opportunity and privilege of visiting lodges in our own country and internationally.Though I am not convinced that the Russian proverb that “If you are a host to your guest, be a host to his dog also,” applies in Masonry. Remember that the Lodge is a friendly environment filled with people interested in what you have to say and excited to see you succeed! The partners and I all agreed that your attendance added tremendous value to the evening and helped to make it a great success. May the Great Architect of the Universe bless that bounty which He has provided for us and make us mindful of the needs of others. It also helps to have a good, thorough understanding of what’s going on in your lodge, and Freemasonry in general.You should talk about what the Lodge is going to do next, ‘advertising’ its activities and motivating the Brethren to participate. In effect, you define yourself as someone who does not win – and perhaps you learn to be happy about this. I would note here that memorising ritual is a different skillset and we will be presenting articles on Memory Techniques in further issues of this magazine.
