About this deal

Your cleaner has been fitted with a thermal cut out to protect the vacuum cleaner from damage should it get too hot and overheat. The main unit cleverly clips onto the front of the extension bar and the floor nozzle holds everything upright. To protect the cleaner from possible damage due to overheating a thermal cut out will switch off the electrical supply if the motor gets too warm.

You’ll need to find somewhere to keep the crevice tool, but the combi tool is pre-attached to the neck of the main vacuuming unit.Hoover has done a nice job with the H-Free 500, offering a really compact vacuum cleaner which is easy to use and versatile. So, we were keen to see how the Hoover H-Free 300 would fare against our seriously furry feline as well as day-today grime. One thing we did find though is that, while the “park and go” feature that allows the vacuum to stand up is handy, it isn’t fool proof. We’ve also used it in the car as it’s so portable and can get into more of the nooks and crannies that we needed to clean out.

The main vacuum itself is the handle part, with a curved, black body that incorporates the dustbin and all the buttons you’ll need to use the vacuum. The Hoover range of cordless vacuum cleaners combines power and flexibility, for a convenient, easy-to-use clean. It’s also worth noting that the Dyson V8 cuts out when its tubes are blocked by our measuring device, so its results may potentially be a little better than ours.

The roller has three types of brush attached to its single roller: one soft, one stiffer, and a third set of even stiffer fabric fins, similar to those on a Shark IZ300UKT.There are plenty of features, but is let down a tad by short battery life and a small dustbin so won’t be so good for those with larger homes. If not, download hOn App or Wizard App (according to the model) to get more features and maintenance tips and tricks. Compact after use: 69cm in height for easy storage, and self-standing parking position in storage mode. If the battery will not hold charge it may be due to long storage periods or usage possibly of one year or more. The main floor brush makes light work of crumbs and we were surprised at how well it picked up larger pieces of dirt too, especially when on full power.

Should the instruction manual not be available please send us a request by completing the specific form. There’s plenty of competition in this space from the likes of Dyson, of course, but also brands like Philips and Gtech. The flour test is just as problematic for some vacuums, but the Hoover HF500 performed well here, too. Blockages or dirty filters may cause this to happen, the safety cut off will activate and switch off the electrical supply.Suitable for all types of flooring, H-FREE 100 has no complicated settings to adjust : just squeeze the trigger and off you go. On hard floors, it collected 98% of the flour I spilled in a single pass, leaving only a very light but still visible dusting behind. I’ve not done a scientific comparison between the power of the pick up, but the H Free 500 sucks up ‘dust bunnies’, hair, crumbs and everything you would expect it to and is so much lighter to use that I’ve picked it over the Shark each time since it arrived. The cleaning performance is brilliant and we loved how lightweight and portable it is, meaning it can be used for quick touch-ups we all need to make every day or so.
