About this deal

In the tradition of Marie Kondo and Mrs Hinch, this guide will revolutionise how you think about your space. Like a good school, feng shui gives you the right environment to achieve your goals, but it cannot guarantee any specific outcome.

It’s about understanding and enhancing your environment, making it flow better and therefore giving you a clearer mind, helping you live the best life you can,” he explains. If you think of your home as a map, how can you ever feel like you belong if you can get lost in it?An enjoyable and informative read that gave me clear ideas about how to rearrange my furniture and make the most out of my space. Now his fans come from all over the globe, but Cliff has noticed one common theme: “Everyone seems to have a Kallax bookshelf from IKEA!

Thanks to the book, I realized that at its core, Feng Shui is really just about making your home feel safe and comfortable for you.

Desks can be disguised a little if you keep the units on either side at the same level so it flows and blends in. But seeing as I'm moving into my new apartment in a month, I decided to listen to his advice to hopefully learn something that would be useful. Simple suggestions and illustrated diagrams describing flow of chi and proper location of furniture in desirable areas. i'd def recommend reading this is you're like me and want good advice on how to make your home look and feel good! Avoid mirrors in kitchens (which will reflect too much chi around the room) or having bins on display.

My mom has nagged us about our furniture placement all our lives, citing feng shui rules, but this book made it seem less esoteric and more commonsensical, and I love that! Some rules might not just be relevant in your home, it’s really more about a sensible approach to living well. Infact, the videos might be even more helpful with the visual aid, especially regarding furniture placement.

I have to rate this book 5 stars because partway through reading it I put it down to redo a room in my home - incredibly helpful for anyone, like me, who is not good at knowing how or why to place furniture/objects in a room. You can stop it looking messy – put the tall things on the side, create negative (empty) space in front, use odd numbers of objects which go easier on the eye, and create clusters of colourful things together rather than spreading them around which can feel uneven if the rest of your colour scheme is neutral. His recommendations are all very practical, and update the older Chinese ideas that were rooted in a world of outhouses and fireplace stoves. Definitely gave me some perspective on how to move my bedroom around (and the ambiance is totally different!
