mind you, any derren brown book is highly readable and hugely enjoyable - particularly for the young! Brown frankly appears to attach little importance—but is in fact a theatrical question, and that the traditional effects and approaches of mentalism, by their very nature, have too long lived their meager lives out somewhere between the desert towns of Dullsville and Endoftheline. This book itself comes in fine condition, with the original spiral binding and hand signed by Derren himself. Plus those looking to discover the wonderous treasure trove of Derren's unique psychological methods will quickly come crashing down to earth upon reading this.

If you're interested in using some skills that Derren Brown does, I would also recommend checking out some NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) books, as they will definitely help you out. While he (somewhat surprisingly) does not invoke that principle by name, the problems he poses, and the superb solutions he offers, speak directly to that subject and the concerns it raises—concerns that any thoughtful and experienced practitioner will likely share.If they are going to all that trouble to produce fake illegal copies, one wonders why they didn't do it with the first edition that apparently everyone (not me) is after? Or does Derren not want his name (and the public's perception of him) to be associated with that type of magic? A lengthy series of card effects, performed with three cards and three spectators, provides an extended sequence of strong effects in a mystifying and commercial routine.
