I got a lot of enjoyment out of the process of taking pinhole photos, and it is super educational, too. Maybe it didn’t help that the exposure was off and I didn’t see enough detail where I wanted it, but I couldn’t be sure if it was the film or the camera at fault. Another alternative is the ‘Intelligence’ filter, which increases contrast, darkens mid-tones and sharpens the image to generally punch it up a few notches. This isn’t at all a fault of the film–it’s just that if I’m using the Diana F+’s pinhole camera mode, I’d also love to be able to look through the viewfinder when I attach a graduated ND filter to create a pinhole. I am already 4 shots in with 6 to go in my Neo… “INSTAX MINI COLOUR SENSITIVITY” section, you are spot on with how the mono handles the different colors.To be honest, because of all these variables and factors, I really recommend shooting in a highly controlled environment from the photographer or absolutely crappy weather. Fuji Instax Monochrome film works in all instax mini cameras and offers stunning instant prints that can fit into a wallet, purse or mini photo frame.

It’s a bit easier with the Diana F+ because you know that you’re always around 1/60th of a second and your aperture changes based on your setting, but again it’s pretty difficult to work with simply because of the lack of proper cameras available. While the film’s processing speed is good, I wonder how it compares to the offerings from Impossible? But I want to be able to deliver really beautiful portraits using this film and at the moment, I can’t exactly put my creating vision through with the cameras available. One thing i noticed when scanning or snapping a pic of the mono-photo, is the different color casts can come out harsher (i guess is a good word) than the original print.Recognized for its excellent color reproduction, the film has a glossy finish and is an excellent choice for general use, portraiture or even with electronic flash. Fuji Instax Mini shots are tiny, wallet-sized images, and this inherently is the biggest limitation of the format.
