About this deal

I am still on the fence about book 1 , Game Changer and it's more than likely , I will be skipping it.

The way he was obsessed with Shane’s freckles -and Shane, in general- since the beginning and kept fooling himself saying he was only into the forbidden aspect of it. The first part of the story was slower and a bit repetitive, not that it bothered me at all, but once their relationship started to shift, it was an absolute delight to read. This book is also extremely high heat in a way where you can’t skim and skip through the sex scenes like you could with the first book, because I also feel like a lot of relationship development is in those sex scenes, so that was kind of a bummer. Opposites attract, forbidden sex, hard angry sex, sex turning into more, hot muscular men and ice hockey. I mean, I knew what would happen because I was rereading it but I still felt the “oh god what will happen” and “are they going to” tension.I wasn’t expecting to give it another chance until I read Role Model and found myself not only loving Ilya, but smiling at every Shane-Ilya cameo.

I’ve seen this book recommended a lot, but even having read the first in the series, it’s taken me a long time to get around to it. I have read multiple stories that have characters with accents, but the accents have never been so well-written that they carry over to the voice in my head like his did.Walk away, once a few secret hookups turn into a struggle to keep their relationship out of the press. And if someone says, “They can’t be together because they can’t risk it” or anything similar, that is exactly why the forbidden part failed. The last time they had really spoken had been almost six months ago, before the Olympics, and Shane hadn’t actually done all that much talking. Ahora leeré los demás de la serie para llegar al sexto que es la continuación de está maravillosa historia.

These two MCs are so well written, so well developed and the chemistry they have is out of this world. There is one more thing that is present from their first meeting, a chemistry between them that neither of them can seem to escape, no matter how many times they tell themselves that it’s the last time. I would have expected to see a heartbreaking vibe similar to the one in The Locker Room by Amy Lane and it felt more like your typical fluffy smut-romance.

I know this is so many people’s favorite book in the series, but the ending leaves me feeling a bit…blah. Of course Ilya and Shane are not always in the same city and at times author shows them separately and maybe I am misreading the narrative, but I felt like most of the time she did it to make a point – to show that their connection was strengthening that they were thinking about each other. When I was writing their story, I really wasn’t sure if any publisher would go for it because it’s kind of a weird book. I accidentally came a cross of one of the reviews which talked about excessive amount of sex in this story (which is usually a big fat NO for me), and about angry rivalry between the leads and I am all for that (provided the execution was good), and I decided I would try it and I am very glad I did. I didn’t feel like it was an enemies to lovers though it was more they were competitive since they both started their hockey careers together and in opposite teams.

Uumlber den AutorrnrnRachel Reid has always lived in Nova Scotia, Canada, and will likely continue to do so. The two are so horny for each other that it took Ilya until November 2016 to say Shane’s name because they would refer to each other as their last name (not to mention it was pre-orgasm). It was fun to see how they pushed each other in the rink plus that competitiveness made their attraction even more sexy.

though the team names are changed, Reid's time jumps centered around major hockey events (Junior Hockey Championships, entry drafts, All-star weekends, award ceremonies, playoffs, etc. Few months ago, during an Ice Hockey reading mood , I "discovered" Rachel Reid and her Ebook, Heated Rivalry . The compassion (dare I say, compersion) I feel after reading Shane and Ilya's love story is overwhelming. Shane and Ilya do see other people over the course of their strange sex arrangement and they do talk about having sex with other partners a lot.
