The main character is once again Hari Seldon, committed to the development and practical application of Psychohistory. I love this book and the Foundation series, but as I already have several paperback version was looking for something different.

It is written in much the same style as the original novel Foundation, a novel composed of chapters with long intervals in between. Shocked as I am to admit it … this book might actually have good pacing and an all right plot structure. So, in this book we see how the “concept” of psychohistory (which is all that Seldon has in the previous book) develops into the finely-tuned instrument that is in use in Foundation. In the audio book that I just heard, I think this was made to seem even more so by the narrator, Larry McKeever. While Hari continues his work, now supported by Wanda, he gets in trouble with the law twice, the second causing a large trial after a boy lies over his actions.Benchè Isaac Asimov sia stato un notevole divulgatore scientifico, non si può dimenticare che uno dei cicli più affascinanti della fantascienza antica, il ciclo delle fondazioni, sia nato dalla sua penna.
