About this deal

Please also take time to read our post-Brexit information page if you are outside the UK to see what will happen now with tax and import duty. I read a review dating from 2011 if I remember the date correctly and the checkered pattern looked dull, faded, and had the corners rounded right out of the box. As the pen “breaks in” with use the ink will flush any factory oils and residue from the pen, consequently the ink will flow more consistently and writing will become smoother.

I have acquired 2 other Jinhao pens (different models) with medium nibs and I'm curious to see if those perform better. Writing: Writing is fairly smooth and consistent on everything I have tried, including Hammermill paper with edible oil product on it, my Pacon sketch book, sticky notes, and the like, and feels a little better than the Nib Creaper on all.The cap band is also wide and is imprinted with "Jinhao" to the front and the model number "X750" to the rear. I have a jinhao x750 also with a medium nib and had the same problem for a while but then I bought a set of .

Maybe it's the broad nib or this particular nib or poor quality control in general (though I suspect it's the latter) but I constantly struggled with this pen. Inspired by last week's color-coordination of my pens, I decided to pro-actively set-up supplies for my journal for February. Your experiences ring familiar with others I have read and it’s the reason I haven’t tried one until now. Laura and I have managed to convince our knitting compatriots that Hobonichis are cool and Laura has….I think your review of the X750 is spot on, these pens offer an inexpensive entry into the world of fountain pens with a look and feel that belies their cost. I have 3 other Chinese pens that I haven't got around to reviewing but am rather excited to see how they perform (low expectations though). As you can see, the Jinhao X750 has some great potential but it is let down by poor quality control and the cumbersome weight of its body. I may read up on how the different Jinhao models differ and maybe even pick up a few of the X750s and hold them for giveaways to those I encounter that express an interest in fountain pens. is at the base, so I'm guessing Jinhao uses the same nib blank in other pens that have gold plated nibs.

My writing is mostly journaling and I don't like looking at a completed page and seeing easily noticeable variation in ink flow. As with any fountain pen, if the pen is not used regularly the ink will dry out and you may have to get the ink flowing again. It works well and pleasantly does not have that annoying rattle while it sits in the pen like I have experienced with other , much more expensive pens.It is said that he who learns the true number of the Jinhao models will ride the inky dragon to the great bottle in the sky.
