Part of a range of electronic programmers that offer up to four independent channels and feature a large, easy to read display and simple menu-driven programming. Fortunately as I was no longer struggling with worn-out buttons and a dead internal battery, putting in the settings I wanted was much quicker than with the old device. Eventually I realised that the internal battery, which is non-replaceable, must be dead, because it was supposed to be able to keep its programming during power cuts. Hi I have a Horstmann channel plus XL ModelH27 that has failed, will this model be a direct replacement and not need any electrical alterations to the back plate. Once the unit is put together it is extremely difficult to prise apart, so don't clip together until in its final place on the wall and the wiring has been completed, it is possible to part clip it in place to check everything is working prior to final installation, but overall very pleased with my purchase, good instructions with alternative wiring for replacing your present unit.

Just be aware that the contacts between the backplate and the programmer are very tight as supplied and it takes a forceful tug to get the unit off again once fitted (which is what stumped the builders! The new timer works perfectly well, but I know I will be facing the flat battery issue again in 7 years or so.

You can set the times to within 10 minutes for the heating and or hot water, for three periods each day of the week. This product has now been replaced by the: Horstmann (Secure) 2 Channel Receiver Smart Programmable Thermostat (C1727).

I currently have a Horstmann H27XL programmer, as shown in the attached photo, a Bermuda Baxi boiler and a hot water cylinder which is in a cupboard upstairs. Takes a bit of navigation through the menus but very easy to program once you get used to what the buttons do. The programmer, otherwise known as the timeclock, timer or clock is a device that enables you to control when the hot water and heating is switched on to maximise home comfort.You can have these times different for each day, or can have them the same each day, which is a bit easier and takes less time to set up.
