It was fun to get such brightly coloured photos from the lab and I even made a few photos that were worth including in my portfolio. The final scenes depicted in the fresco had not yet occurred when Brumidi began his Frieze of the United States History. I think a good place to test this out would be a sunny day at the beach, with the strong light and bright sands giving the film the perfect excuse if it couldn’t handle it. I just loaded a roll of ColorPlus 200 into my camera today — first time shooting it — so I now have you helpful comparison in-hand. The frieze was therefore painted by four different artists: Brumidi, Filippo Costaggini, Charles Ayer Whipple, and Allyn Cox.

I’m not saying it isn’t average, but I don’t think dismissing as such is the best way to think about it.
