About this deal

This prompted me to unearth some plays I’d written for a school reading group, and since then I’ve had 20 plays published.

Julia Donaldson is the author of some of the best-loved picture books including The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom. Everything rhymes and flows well together, so its good for keeping children’s attention and helping them to stay focused on the story.

Lift the flaps and join in the fun with this special anniversary edition of the bestselling preschool classic, Fox’s Socks by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. She was the UK Children’s Laureate 2011–13 and has been honoured with a CBE for Services to Literature. My novel THE GIANTS AND THE JONESES is going to be made into a film by the same team who made the Harry Potter movies, and I have written three books of stories about the anarchic PRINCESS MIRROR-BELLE who appears from the mirror and disrupts the life of an otherwise ordinary eight-year-old.

Axel is the illustrator of wonderful novelty, gift and poetry books for Macmillan, such as Fish Who Dream of Trees (Two Hoots) and the bestselling The Bedtime Bear , The Tickle Book and Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes – and of course, he is the illustrator of some of the world's best-loved picture books, including modern classics The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child , which together have sold over 17 million copies worldwide.Along the way, he finds all sorts of different items of clothing - but what he really wants is his socks!

One of my television songs, A Squash and a Squeeze, was made into a book in 1993, with illustrations by the wonderful Axel Scheffler. Axel and Julia have now collaborated together for over 20 years and remain one of the most creative partnerships in the Children's books world, drawing comparisons to Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake. Changed to from 4 stars to 5 stars based on a one-year-old’s immediate love for this book (and insistence on reading it four more times in a row. The book is short, simple and uses great illustrations to make the book fun and engaging for the reader. Actually, the most apt interpretation might be through a lens of Heideggerian/Shklovskyan thing theory.

I studied Drama and French at Bristol University, where I met Malcolm, a guitar-playing medic to whom I’m now married. Full of Donaldsons classic rhymes, the lift the flaps book really engaged Bud and he likes looking under each flap as a new clothing item turns up until, finally, a rather dapper looking Fox is ready for his day complete with bow tie and straw boater. We want a song about throwing crumpled-up wrapping paper into the bin” was a typical request from the BBC. You see, he has an event to get to, and it is imperative that he is fully dressed, replete with a bow tie.I used to memorise poems as a child and it means a lot to me when parents tell me their child can recite one of my books. In spite of all these unanswered questions, the story of Fox's socks is fun and has a satisfying conclusion. Did I read this book just because it's the 26th of december, I'm behind on my Goodreads challenge, and I figured I would be able to read it within thirty seconds? Her collaborations with the fantastic illustrator Axel Scheffler have led to vivid rhyming stories which are a feast for the imagination. Best known for her collaborations with Axel Scheffler, each of these vivid rhyming stories is a triumph of imagination.
