About this deal

Therefore, many of the “What I Liked” and other such topics were covered in that Lion Rampantreview. A set of wargames rules from Dan Mersey who wrote Lion Rampant, Pike's Lament, Dux Belloram and a few others.

I decided against Lesser Warbeasts because I felt that tAnyway, this week I squeezed in a quick game using one of the scenarios in the rulebook – Scenario C – Death Chase. December has been mostly a wipe out due to a serious cold/flu/Covid infection for the last 4 weeks and is still hanging on. I've found that it's fairly easy to make the unit profiles work with the models I have and because I'm drawing from the same set of profiles the games always turn out to be balanced, fun encounters that still capture the flavor of the armies I'm trying to represent. That said, the GM did a fantastic job achieving his goal in introducing us to the basic mechanics of the game.

Perhaps especially when playing solo, a lot comes down to luck of the dice, and I am not expecting (or would even want) to identify some sort of winning formula for the best force structure.Undoubtedly the elves would have sworn fealty to the English crown as sovereign, and it is known they generally supported the English throne on matters (the exception being in 1171 when the elven court were signatories to a papal letter for Henry II’s involvement with the Thomas Beckett affair). With Lion Rampant/Dragon Rampant my rules of choice for large skirmishes, I am always on the lookout for new ideas or options. My own Empire army has an Ogre contingent, Trolls, Bears, Dwarves and a Reaper giant ( Is one enough though? I push my Light Cavalry units to meet his Cavalry and try to bring up my infantry units as much as I can.

My Daemons (Ravenous hordes of 1 point each) and my Chaos Sorcerer Lord were left at their starting positions, since they never activated.

You can read the full report here: Wars of the Roses – Battle of Hedgeley Moor – Battle Report – Maidstone Wargames Society (brigademodels. The two armies of Orcs set up opposite to each other in the middle of the table and had a distinct advantage in capturing the civilians. Before I went back to the 6mm SYW project I did paint a force of Bear Clan/Cultists but have taken forever to get the bases done. Opinions expressed here are solely those of the posters, and have not been cleared with nor are they endorsed by The Miniatures Page. Santa Claus has been kidnapped by hordes of psycho-penguins and the players must spread festive goodwill to release him.
