About this deal

I don’t think that I’ll probably be bringing Wardens anytime soon, they just don’t bring enough to the table to wow me. If a model has more than one invulnerable save, it can only use one of them – choose which it will use.

In the following Fight phase, both units will be eligible to fight, but Model A’s unit will not count as having charged that turn. If that ADEPTUS CUSTODES INFANTRY unit contains 4 or fewer models, this Stratagem costs 1CP; otherwise, it costs 2CP.When setting objective markers up on the battlefield, place them so they are centred on the point specified by the mission. If it is your opponent’s Movement phase, subtract an equivalent number of inches from that enemy unit’s Move characteristic for this phase (to a minimum of 0"). If that unit is Below Half-strength, until the end of the phase, add 2 to the Attacks characteristic of those melee weapons instead.

Use this Stratagem in the Fight phase, when an ADEPTUS CUSTODES unit from your army is selected to fight. If the result is greater than or equal to the Save characteristic of the model the attack was allocated to, then that saving throw is successful and the attack sequence ends. The cellular alchemy that creates the warriors of the Adeptus Custodes leaves them forever touched by a spark of the Emperor’s own greatness. If anything, my initial reaction was that the larger maximum unit size on Guard (10 vs 6) might tip things in their favour by helping to maximize the effect of character buffs.

Weapons powered by unstable and dangerous energy sources pose a substantial risk to the wielder every time they are used. While a Ka’tah Stance is active for your army, each unit from your army with this ability gains the relevant ability.

Models cannot be set up or end a Normal, Advance or Fall Back move within Engagement Range of any enemy models. If this is possible, then the charge is successful and the models in the unit make a charge move so as to fulfil the above conditions. Units with this ability that are eligible to fight do so in the Fights First step, provided every model in the unit has this ability. When a unit makes a Normal Move, each model in that unit can move a distance in inches equal to or less than the Move (M) characteristic shown on its datasheet, but no model can be moved within Engagement Range of enemy models. To do so, roll 2D6: if the result is greater than or equal to the best Leadership characteristic in that unit, the test is passed; otherwise, the test is failed and, until the start of your next Command phase, that unit is Battle-shocked.
