About this deal

Underpinned by Nordic mythology and a satirical approach to contemporary culture, this entertaining romp already has a cult of worshippers. I didn't know I wanted to read about Loki as a disgraced god forced into an Adrian-Mole-esque existence, but it turns out I do! This book was also really exciting as you got to play detective and solve the mystery of Thor’s missing hammer. Definitely one you must have on your bookshelves, Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Ruling the World is my favourite in the series so far and my wife had to ask me to be quiet when I was reading as I was laughing so hard.

The Loki series is a real favourite of mine and one I am constantly recommended to children and families as they are accessible to even the most reluctant of readers. At the end of the book my class gave a spontaneous round of applause which they've never done before! The tone of the book is fantastic and it reads smoothly, peppers with hilarious illustrations that clarify key moments within the tale. After playing one trick too many, Loki, Norse god of mischief, is sent by Odin to live on earth as an 11-year-old boy.

Private School: a place where the children of the rich learn how to talk over each other and are told on a daily basis that they are born to rule the world. My 10 year old generally prefers audio books to actual reading, but he's devoured the hard copy of this story and is excited to see the next in the series.

If you have a kid who enjoyed Diary of a Wimpy Kid - and also enjoys reading about ancient mythology - check this one out! Wickedly hilarious and subversively fun, Loki: A Bad God's Guide to Being Good is a laugh-out-loud delight with all the fabulously addictive weirdness of the original Norse mythology.

Another hilarious Loki book […] Loved the explanations of mortal things such as zoos, mall etc that made me laugh out loud.

For any kid transfixed by Norse mythology […] it’s silly, full of cheeky jokes and mischief, and peopled by believable, fallible characters who just happen to be gods. My son and I read it together over the course of several nights before bed and it offered the level of humor and wit that we both look for in books.A quirky fantasy adventure in which a human boy and a Greek goddess accidentally release an immortal supervillain who is determined to take over the world - and maybe even the universe.
