About this deal

Everything revolves around a mix of cedar woods from disparate places such as India and Africa, and oak wood. My brother and I shared a bottle and I was always going into his top drawer to spray some on before school. Very different than my normal fragrances; normally I"m a Blue fragrance wearer, this is a different experience. If you want something more subtle, then i dont think this will suit you, maybe it can work if you apply only one or two sprays. It was the mid-'80s and it stopped me in my tracks, only briefly, and then I was off like a flash to catch up to him and ask what gorgeous fragrance he was wearing.

The heart is powdery sandalwood and orris, rose-tinged yet fiercely masculine (in a 70s way), and the base is a hairy chest musky vanillic amber with that orris merging into tonka, which I find in other in frags as well and just love that symbiosis. Finally, Classic EDT is rounded off with a base note of musk, amber, and tonka bean, giving a deep and sophisticated finish. I so long for the days when men's colognes were, arguably, intense enough to maintain their projection and longevity for 8 hours and would rival most mens EDP's today. Lagerfeld is a more masculine gruff fragrance, and there is some bit of enticing seductiveness scent in it too.

Lagerfeld Classic is one of the more elegant masculine fragrances of the 70s giving more classy vibes, perhaps it is because of those rose and jasmine notes. The people in the comments below, don't listen to them they clearly have their nostalgia goggles on and only like this scent for nostalgia reasons and look at their usernames it's got like 80's and stuff in their names they probably older than my parents.

It is classified as oriental-woody, but it usually behaves in a very particular way on different skins. In my opinion this is a hardcore winter fragrance, you can wear it how you want, but you may want to adjust your sprays accordingly. On my skin, it usually reveals a more oriental-chypre aspect, with many nuances typical of female chypres from that time. Although I expanded my repertoire of perfumes over the decades, I never forgot, never moved away or beyond and still love to wear it. Everyone else seems to have got massive projection and sillage; not me, I got barely any (I asked people!I realise that recreating the original KL won’t bring my mother back, but it would be lovely to have her scent back in my life. Instead, the perfumer Alexis Dadier uses several woody aspects and paired them with a classic fougere lavender and unexpected laurel leaf and hazelnut note. The oakmoss and amber are there in both, but the amber in the Interparfums version may be a bit stronger. The drydowns are where the 2 versions are the closest, with the only difference being that the Unilever keeps the powderyness.
