About this deal

It's been a while since I've picked up a Karen Rose book, so when I saw this, I thought as it's the first in a series set in New Orleans, it would be the perfect place to pick up from. Introducing the first book in the new pulse-pounding Sacramento series from New York Times bestselling author Karen Rose. I love knowing without a doubt when I open a Karen Rose book, I'm in for an intense, highly atmospheric reading experience with complex interwoven plot lines and a full cast of well developed, dimensional characters. Never fear, there are still good people working in the justice system and a larger team emerges, some from past books and other new quirky civilian characters particularly Broussard’s capable investigation team and his network in the city, to go after the corruption even if it puts them on the hit list.

When she is out celebrating her success with one of her patients, someone is trying to shoot her, but she comes out unharmed from the affair. After college, Rose worked for several years in the pharmaceutical industry before deciding to pursue her passion for writing. Almost finished, You Belong to Me, and have it sitting on top of Alone in the Dark, hoping it’s as fabulous as You Belong to Me is . As the story progresses, bodies begin piling up, dirty secrets come oozing out and the story line becomes quite convoluted with suspects and motives. Unfortunately, he got too close and now Gabe is trying to connect the dots of his father’s investigation without dying or getting anyone else killed. The characters have a depth that makes them extremely realistic and the places are drawn with elegance and stunning descriptive abilities. I no sooner settle in at page one and it is not unusual that I don’t come up for air until a large portion of the book is gone. Rose demands readers' attention with her meticulous writing style and precise attention to the smallest of seemingly unimportant details which often hold the key to solving the mystery.

His Bob Lee Swagger series took the world by storm in the 90s, and he has a new collection of novellas this month featuring Bob Lee, Earl and Charles. Molly Sutton completed her time with the Marines, went to college and turned to law enforcement in her home state.

At one point in her life, working as a chemical engineer, she says she once filled an entire passport and a half with stamps in just three years.

She has also been featured on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists, and her novels have been translated into multiple languages. As they get closer and closer to the truth, they realise that the killer is not going to stop at Rocky.

But they both have terrible scars, they both carry a lot of pain on the shoulders, and soon they realize how difficult it is to find the courage to let go of the past. If you like contemporary romances with lots of suspense and danger, then this book is one to check out.

While I found this book to be decent overall, I tend to hold thrillers to a higher standard, expecting jaw-dropping moments and compelling plot twists. I love the way she lets you get swept up in the story and she has an unusual but satisfying pacing style where there are bursts of action followed by a lot of "hang out" time with our characters. Gabe Hebert, chef turned private investigator, works alongside an actual PI, Molly Sutton, to find his father’s killer. In his work as a defense attorney in Baltimore, Thorne has always been noble to a fault--specializing in helping young people in trouble just .And the body count mounts as the witnesses and potential problems are eliminated with Molly and Gabe on the to-do list along with a key person from the past, Xavier Morrow. A twisty, dangerous ride all the way to the end, the French Quarter setting adds an extra je ne sais quoi to this entertaining suspense novel from Karen Rose.
