Side-fed airbrushes do have some benefit, as you don’t have a colour cup in your way as you’re looking down an airbrush. I just seem to get on with it better for fine use, But the HP-CS is most likely better for most modellers and I used it for many years.Not to mention that this rough texture absorbs some of the paint particles, so sometimes when I’m spraying a varnish, it gets the tint of the last paint I sprayed before. Its great for general coverage, and with some practice, it will get down to real fine lines, perfect for 1/48 luftwaffe mottle and real fine post-shading. The reason you see the spatter of the darkest blue on the white areas is becasue I hadn’t turned up the pressure on the compressor enough. The most important thing to note is that this is purely a cosmetic issue and will not affect the performance of the airbrush. If you want to look down the length of the airbrush as you spray, the HP-BS paint cup does not obscure your vision as much.

The other important thing this shows is how much detail is retained on the model after more than 10 layers of paint were applied. The "proprietary material" of the nozzle may be a nickel based superalloy and is tougher than the stainless steel most other manufacturers use. Do not hesitate, (yes I know you're thinking it's too expensive), it's NOT, this will save you time and money in the long run because out of the box, (after a quick initial clean), these things work perfectly, not good, but perfectly.
