Though someone who wants a one-to-one adaptation will be disappointed as Selick makes adjustments that are more cinematic though Gaiman fans may find issues with. An incredible ride from start to finish, the film catered to no certain audience and just was what it was and delivered to those of all ages who came to check it out. I have the 3D versions (sans Missing Link 3D, of course) and would sell off the prior version(s) I've already double dipped for. The film is mysterious throughout: You're not sure where she's going to end up or what is going to happen. Bravo to Shout Factory for ensuring that they took the time and patience to have the new soundtrack created.

A dark fantasy for children, Coraline seemed to be the perfect fit not only for Selick, but for LAIKA Entertainment. Coraline on 4K Ultra HD sits in Steelbook packaging with new artwork by Cesar Moreno, alongside a 1080p Blu-ray of the film and a 12-page insert booklet featuring behind-the-scenes stills, concept art, and an essay by Peter Debruge. The biggest omission from this release is the 3D version of the film, in both its anaglyphic and polarized forms. The story is about a young girl named Coraline who moves with her family to a small town and discovers a parallel universe behind a secret door in their new house.

Factory’s Ultra HD debut of the film comes sourced from a “new 4K restoration,” graded for high dynamic range (HDR10 and Dolby Vision options are available) with the supervision of LAIKA. It was one of my very favorite films of that decade and one of the best 3D experiences I’ve still had to this day.I was expecting a drawn out fiasco to get some resolution but instead found instant refund with this more than fair top seller. Deleted Scenes (8:44) – director Henry Selick introduces the 6-deleted scenes with animation in various forms of completion. On the 4K, the costuming of the mice with the threading can be made out very clearly which the Blu-Ray struggles to reproduce. A side-by-side comparison of the mouse circus scene and the level of detail between the 4K and Blu-Ray is made clear.
