Both machines are still going strong, which is really something given that the classic was manufactured in 2003! This is the new version of the Gaggia Classic for 2024, and this came as a bit of a surprise to me, as I didn't really see anything that was broken about the 2019 Pro that needed fixing. Brew valves, though, don't do as good a job as quickly getting rid of the pressure after pulling the shot. In addition to this, using a more capable grinder, some work on your puck prep, flushing the group head before each shot – and most importantly, using high quality freshly roasted coffee beans, will lead to far, far better shots of espresso.

Still, it's a very cheap machine, if you want far better potential cup quality, ease of use, and potentially way better long term value for money, I'd highly recommend scrolling down to the Gaggia Espresso. However, to fully enjoy its unique taste, it’s worth taking care over the proper preparation of the brew. Just make sure the jug is touching the temp sensor on the drip tray, choose your texture level, choose your temp, and what it produces is actually very good.
