I really like the roller lash and I'd seen the Maybelline mascara on the shelf but I didn't take a close look at it, I didn't know it was a potential dupe! I've used benefit they real mascara for ages and was happy with it, but felt adventurous to try this one and oh my god am I happy I did!

I’ve never really been a fan of designer mascaras other than They’re Real but Roller Lash has gotten amazing reviews, so I had to try it. While I wanted to keep it for traveling days, I couldn't contain my excitement to try it out as soon as the mascara I was using ran out. No doubt I really like how it curls my lashes and make them stay that way for a long period of time. You could get this early before the release date as a smaller sample size was a free gift with Elle magazine. A final bonus, if you needed one at this point, is that, despite the effect, it doesn’t weigh on your lashes – it feels light, helping to add to the ‘wide awake’ feel and look of the product!I have long, long lashes but they are stick straight and require much curling to get them to peep up. I still haven't tried my sample from Elle, it's been sitting in my makeup drawer untouched but hopefully I will use it soon to see what all the hype is about. Though, admittedly, I have naturally longer lashes, I’m all for enhancing and dramatising that look – and this new Benefit beauty does just that!

The item may be missing its original packaging, or the original packaging has been opened or is no longer sealed. It lasts all day with no flaking or smudging but is easy enough to remove with a good eye make-up remover. However, a lot of people have been turned off this mascara because it is so incredibly hard to remove, so much so that Benefit had to release a special eye make up remover, They’re Real!

There is a guard inside the tube to make sure that there isn’t too much mascara on the brush which saves waste and means that your lashes aren’t overloaded. The mascara also has a ‘wand wiper’ built in which is meant to ensure that the brush doesn’t have too much product so that the eyelashes can be separated easily. This mascara looks right up my alley, I'll definitely be checking it out if/when it comes to Australia.

my eyelashes are naturally flat and medium to long but when I curl them they will stay curled throughout the day without mascara. Even if I finish getting ready for a night out early I'd rather go and get myself a drink than sit with an eyelash curler! I’m really quite selective when it comes to mascara, often feeling that I’m having to pump way too many times to see any type of effect take hold on my lashes. But if I remember right, I think They’re Real was more about defining the lashes while Roller Lash is more about volume.
