You have just 60 seconds to memorise the positions of the 12 symbol tiles… BUT prepare to be Baffled as they constantly swap and change positions around the board! Obstacles can be in a form of the complex movement of the pen on the board, a die that delays you from moving forward, and even closing your eyes to increase the difficulty. Having celebrated my fourth anniversary of unwrapping Baffled last Christmas, the past years have taught me a lot. So, the board: big, takes up a lot of space on the table and can be easily replaced, without major changes to the gameplay. Of course, Colt Express is also famous for cardboard 3D cacti that have absolutely no game purpose and act simply as a piece of scenery.

The instructions were very clear and easy to follow and no adult help was needed – the children were able to play independently.Each time you get an answer wrong you lose a life, or if you ask a question and it is answered correctly. I remember vividly a few years back, when I was just starting my now somewhat monstrous board game collection, a friend bringing me for Christmas a copy of Baffled.

If your memory’s good enough, using these rewards wisely could allow you to cause serious problems for your opponents, especially if you’ve been cunning enough to figure out their weak-points… What’s Good? I really like this game, it was alot of fun to play and it's a game that changes and differs each time you play it. During the game the players need to keep their markers inside the race lines while encountering events (cards) during the race and overcome them while your opponent keeps running. Each player is given a number of “life” cards at the start of the game and when they have used up all their lives they are out.Family fun game with two levels of questions for adults and children, spin the spinner to decide if you get a question or physical challenge, with added challenges along the way! Another honourable mention has to be Baffled’s application of memory into the game, which makes it unique since it’s not something you see an awful lot in board games today. This is an intriguing game, when reading the back of the box I really couldn't understand how the tiles 'swap' themselves, I couldn't wait to give it a go.

There is, of course, no question, that in current fast-growing board game market, games have to do all they can to stand out. It’s not all hard work though; when another player is head-scratching over a tricky symbol and pulls off one of the covers to see if they were correct, you’ve all learnt something whether your opponent got it right or wrong (though incorrect answers from other players are always a bonus!

You don’t shout out the answers – in fact you don’t even need to know them – you simply stand up or sit down to show your choice. There are a few ways you can adjust it, to play it with people of different ages, but I’ll come to that in a moment. If the challenged player gets it right then the one asking the question loses a life, so you need to choose carefully. ICECOOL is a fun flicking game that is a great test of dexterity for children, teenagers and adults alike.
