About this deal

As always it reads beautifully and the story entices its readers with glamour, dance and their beloved characters.

We also catch up with Billy Brogan who gets himself in a bit of a pickle, and Mrs Moffat who makes a decision. It was fantastic to catch up with the characters I've grown so fond of and to be introduced to new ones.

The characters were very clearly defined and as the war moved on and the brothers were left at Dunkirk, it was a very emotional story. Raymond and Nancy were the romantic leads but the books dealt with drug abuse and poverty and fascism which the country faced at the time. This latest book gives us a glimpse into the past where we find a young Raymond struggling at the very beginning of his dancing career when dancing competitions were the main focus in his life and winning was all important! In March 2007 Du Beke was a contestant on the BBC Two series The Underdog Show and was paired with homeless dog Ginger.

I didn’t know until about two thirds of the way through the author’s history in dancing and I love how he weaves it into the story through the use of one of the main characters. I had no idea what I was expecting, however I should have realised that someone as polished and professional as Anton would do nothing but provide the reader with a first class read.

Let the nation’s favourite ballroom dancer waltz you through the outbreak of war and beyond as Hitler’s advances across Europe threatens to disrupt the lives and shatter the dreams of those working within the dazzling, opulent hotel that is The Buckingham.

Following on from my Sunday Times bestselling debut, ‘ One Enchanted Evening‘, then ‘ Moonlight Over Mayfair‘ which was shortlisted for the Historical Romantic Novel Award, ‘A Christmas to Remember’ rejoins our favourite characters: Raymond de Guise and Nancy Nettleton, Hélène, Frank, Vivienne, Billy, Mrs Moffatt – all under Maynard Charles’ managerial watch in the exclusive Buckingham Hotel with its magnificent Grand Ballroom. Set during the years of the Second World War, the series tells the tales of members of staff at The Buckingham Hotel in Mayfair. Well, my loves, I shall look forward to seeing you each weekend over the coming months, but in the meantime, keeeeep reading – ‘ We’ll Meet Again’ will soon be released, and I’d love to know what you think!

If you haven’t already read ‘ One Enchanted Evening‘, ‘ Moonlight Over Mayfair‘, or ‘ A Christmas To Remember‘… now’s your chance – plenty of time to catch up with them before ‘We’ll Meet Again’ comes out! Although I haven’t read the prequels to this book I still felt as though I could pick it up and follow the story without feeling muddled, though that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t mind reading the start of Raymond De Guise’s, Nancy’s as well as the other staff members stories. Completely unscripted, improvised, and with some fabulous song and dance numbers, these exclusive seven shows are going to be intimate evenings with me, my wonderful band, and some special guests including my very good friend and star vocalist, Lance Ellington.

The final stave, based around the Dunkirk evacuation and the preparation of what lay ahead was very emotional to read. On swapping the dance floor for the judges panel, he told Chris: “I feel really happy right now, because I’m really loving the show, I’m loving being a judge on the show. The previous books have been set in the interwar years, a period I find intensely fascinating: it’s a time in history when things were changing so quickly but also when dance was such an important part of everyone’s lives. Lots to look forward to, dates for our diaries, and a good book to whisk us all away this coming wintertime – sounds perfect! It's September 1940 and war around London is heavy and fierce with continued bombings and air raids.
