About this deal

I love the concept of adding “Food Facts” and “Culture Facts” I really enjoyed these but then there’s a section about where to find other places certain foods appear in, and once again, I’m lost.

The instructions were written very clearly and I liked that it broke down the prep and cooking time in each recipe. Bring your favorite anime foods to life with 75 recipes — from traditional Japanese favorites to inventive recreations — that are easy to make, fun, and delicious. I requested and received a free advanced electronic copy from Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point via NetGalley. It’s my hope that those who pick up this book, foodies and otaku alike (and the lovely people who are both), will enjoy the recipes and the stories behind them! I am especially excited to make the Katsudon (pork cutlet bowl) from a recent favourite Yuri on Ice as well as the Ohagi from one of my childhood favourites Rurouni Kenshin. As a gift from my anime-loving husband, "Cook Anime: Eat Like Your Favorite Character" has become a cherished addition to our culinary journey. Bring your favorite anime foods to life with 75 recipes—from traditional Japanese favorites to inventive recreations—that are easy to make, fun, and delicious.

Eat What You Watch is a collection of his best recipes, complete with awesome illustrations and deliciously cool titles. What if you could cook up a comforting savory bowl of Deku's favorite Katsudon; or slurp up a steaming hot bowl of Naruto's Miso Ramen just like Ichiraku Ramen would make; if you could indulge in a decadent slice of gateau au chocolat as can only be whipped up by the demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis; or how about digging into a mouth-watering Katsu Sandwich from Yoshikage Kira's favorite bakery. I own a lot of cook books and they are all pretty similar and full but this one is amazing I cook things I’d never cook just for the sake of liking the anime, and I’ve started new series just to see the food I’m going to cook!Well, OK, maybe it works better in a physical book because for now it was just recipe after recipe with illustrations here and there. I really like the art style, and the fact that there are recipes from a variety of anime included (I got this as a gift for an anime lover. There’s also a list of tools and ingredients that one will need to make all the recipes found in the book. Each is accompanied by a description of what was happening in the anime at the time this recipe was referenced or even made in it.

All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! The recipes, though, all sound amazing, some are fairly complex and you'll definitely need access to a good Asian market nearby, but if you're an anime fan, you'll definitely love this cookbook. Each recipe started with a specific inspiration / appearance in an anime and a little backstory, followed by detailed instructions, and usually accompanied by an illustration. Out of all the little subcultures geekdom has birthed, few have the natural inclination to add cooking to their culture like anime geeks do. The recipes are easy to read- although a few I’ve read have techniques I’ve never used so I’d have to look them up but that’s the fun of learning new foods.Ramen Otaku is one of the best cookbooks for anime geeks who want to taste real, authentic ramen that gives you a punch of flavor in every sip. Those out of the way, this is a fun cookbook with detailed step-by-step instructions for making a variety of dishes from a wide range of (mostly shounen) series. Any anime fan knows that food plays an important part in any story and this wonderful cookbook shares 75 recipes for you to recreate what you've seen in your favourite shows and films. Host Rosanna Pansino kicks off every episode with a recipe that's based off a geeky element, such as unicorns, 8-bit games, or castles.
