Whether or not the legendary NOW series is as old as time itself is uncertain, but what is for sure is that the compilations it puts together have always been great collections of the music of the moment. The CD formats contain 85 tracks over the four discs and mix classics from the likes of ELO, Rod Stewart, Gerry Rafferty, ABBA, Wings, Kate Bush, Olivia Newton-John (and John Travolta!As Always with compilations to fit more tracks on each side they have to reduce the volume levels of each track, which means some surface noise creeps in on quieter songs. This special edition CD is housed in ‘hard-back-book’ packaging, including a 28-page booklet featuring a summary of the year, a track-by-track guide, a quiz, and original singles artwork.
