Quite how much better they would look given a fresh scan is debatable … but I think they should have had one, all the same. Jurassic Park is a decent licensed game that gets the look and feel of its source material correct, but doesn't really stretch for any goal beyond that. I'm not sure what I thought I was going to hear, folks, because when I've played it again – it's just terrific.

Grant soon discovers that his hosts are not what they seem, and the island's native inhabitants are smarter and more brutal than he ever imagined.The story lacks the awe and wonder of the first film, replacing it with moody set pieces, some of which work better than others. These mixes were designed with incredible viewer-immersion in mind, and they are a thrill-ride even without the visuals. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse.Expect yet another thunderous presentation that's actually even more elaborately designed than the original two films! And if nothing else, you now have a great disc to use when demoing your system, or if you just want to annoy your neighbors. Personally, I would have preferred this to have been just one long feature, but I can see why they've gone down this road. Digital composites are probably the worst, since they come with plainly visible black crush and very soft outlines, especially at nighttime.

And it is here when the transfer becomes its most underwhelming, definition and clarity falling off. It's not an entirely faithful adaptation of Michael Crichton's popular novel, but the creative liberties it takes prove enormously ingenious. Nevertheless, the transfer does offer plenty of nicely detailed sequences in daylight, with sharp, clean lines and great visibility of background info. The make-believe CGI creatures and animatronics often display more personality and charisma than their live-action costars.What distracts from enjoying a second trip through prehistoric fantasy is a very apparent lack of characterization.
