Endgame is the sixth (or ninth when you include novellas too) and final book in Malorie Blackman’s ground-breaking and bestselling Nought and Crosses series. The one storyline I was probably the most invested in was the kidnapping of the newly elected (and clouded in scandal) Prime Minister’s daughter and a respective lawyer’s half-brother.

I admire Blackman for taking on the challenge of draw to a close such an acclaimed book series, which has seen a lot of intergenerational developments, but I must admit - I am disappointed. I felt incredibly happy for Libby and how she finds the sense of belonging and family that she had been lacking fir most of her life.

Some things have changed since book one, and it certainly seems that contemporary life/issues have worked their way in. Endgame’s main characters were all familiar to me as a reader, which made each tense scene even harder to read. Blackman's 'Noughts and Crosses' was a formative book for me and has remained so for my own students to this day.

The cliffhanger ending will leave fans desperately awaiting the next installment' Mail on Sunday, 'Must-Read Books of the year, 2019' onCrossfire . I'm so glad they did because they were such a lovely couple in Double Cross and it's obvious they were meant to be together. Originally written, in part, to highlight issues of race and racism within society by inverting the hierarchical structure, this final part of the Noughts and Crosses series continues to shine a light on issues of inequality and prejudice. When Malorie asked what kind of ending she should choose on Twitter last year, I wrote a lengthy reply to answer a positive one so we have hope for a better future. Endgame was the show-stopping, emotional, and incredible conclusion to Malorie Blackman’s Noughts and Crosses series.Contrary to traditional beliefs, the act of consulting a sexologist is becoming more prevalent, indicating a shift towards prioritizing sexual well-being. I even shed a little tear at the climax (although it's a disappointment that given the context I wasn't outright bawling.

Sephy feels like my baby because I've followed her all the way from book 1 and sure she pissed me off so much in the early books but she has my heart. This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. Still a strong four-star read for me - a great collection of books which will no doubt be treasured on readers' bookshelves for many years, together with other great YA series like Harry Potter and His Dark Materials - 9/10. But there's plenty of time for emotion as well, as Blackman expertly weaves together all the threads from the series to form a satisfying if bittersweet conclusion. Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Josephine Langford reprise their roles as the tormented - and often antagonistic - lovers with many casting changes.Over the years, Tobey has attributed his achievements to hard work and his purpose as doing good in the world, when really, it was down to his criminal involvement in being the mastermind behind a notorious gang. dégouline de romantisme hétéro à un point qui m'agace un peu parfois mais je me suis attachée aux personnages. Her death at the end, whilst utterly devastating, truly brought closure to the story, allowing her to reunite with her lover. i won’t pretend i’m not devastated but i also stayed up way too late to finish this in one sitting, and am definitely digging out noughts and crosses to reread tomorrow. News articles for the ‘Daily Shouter’ that are peppered throughout the story draw parallels to issues such as tokenism, the ‘war on drugs’, Black Lives Matter protests (in this book they’re Nought Lives Matter or NLM), Brexit, and the recent new Policing and Crimes Bill in the UK which criminalises protesting. Endgame , the breathtaking conclusion to the series, influenced by the unprecedented global events of recent years, is full of twists and turns and emotions, with its incredible characters reaching a dramatic conclusions to their stories. This made Endgame so heart-wrenching to read – I was not prepared for all the emotions that would come with the end of this incredible series.
