About this deal

Thank you so much, I’ve started book 3 and have been a little lost, I’ve too many books to read to do a ‘re-read, this was perfect. It is kind of hilarious, especially set to the backdrop of the plague breakout in Verona, which gives some perspective to the childish dramatics of our couple. The fact that this book manages to have so much depth filled with amazing characters arcs while also having a deeply engrossing plot with great twists?

May be the author was in a bit of a hurry to finish the second one, then though better of it later and added the missing stuff there. It's definitely suitable for that audience, but the sophistication of both plot and style makes it worthy of a much wider audience. In fact, the only similarities between the two lie in Taylor's atmospheric writing, her distinct characterizations, and the general plot continuation.

Akiva was brutally tortured by the chimaera and Thiago, the “White Wolf”, who also, personally, had Madrigal beheaded. Especially when you find out five seconds later that the only people who didn’t see you as a ridiculously horrible traitor (Brimstone and his helpers) are dead. It becomes clear that others around Karou, including the delightfully quirky Zuzana (Karou's best friend) struggle to accept the notion that Karou and Akiva are now nothing but enemies and therefore can't commit themselves fully to the cause Karou believes she is fighting for.

after ADOSAB, i thought i was on the right track, but after reading this, maybe the whole monsters vs.Jael then commands that white robes and harps be given to everyone in an attempt to invade the human world and make the chimaera look evil for trying to fight the holy angels.

She has devoted herself to finding out what exactly what happened to Brimstone and why he kept her Madrigal-life a secret, and to avenging his death. Where a lot of people, including myself will get tripped up at is that pacing and structure of the novel. His routine is interrupted one day, when he and his father discover that someone has been killing seraphim. Sveva, Sarazel, and Rath are chimaera slaves who escaped after an attack from the Revenant and attempt to avoid being caught from Seraphim. The news that catches Zuzana's and Mik's attention is revealed to be about a phantom girl who has been stealing teeth from the wildlife dioramas of museums around the world.
