About this deal

However, shortly after I reluctantly put it on this morning, the sweetness and freshness started to come through. To be fair, it does dry down after 2 or so hours into a much more subtle jasmine-heavy scent on my skin which is ok, but I am not a big fan of prominent jasmine either, and it's not worth the top notes for me (which are all overwhelmingly prominent). It would be unwearable in hot weather because of this, but I wouldn't consider it a cold weather smell either. Someone mentioned how they wish it had more sweetness, it's almost vegetal to my nose, but in a pleasant way nonetheless. It's cheap and it works, but just like that first relationship, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. The scent contains bright top notes of Louisiana magnolia, pear and lotus, followed by a flower heart of tuberose, jasmine and pink cyclamen, while the base is an effervescent mix of musk, vanilla and precious woods. And since I started to wear Curious like this, suddenly when I spray it by itself, it doesn't smell off at all! I say 'spring', because I don't know how it would perform in true heat, as it was really mild today in the Pacific North and not truly summery. I remember loving it, but I didn't remember what it smelled like, and I finally decided to grab a new bottle all these years later to jog my memory (of course, it's been reformulated, but still).

It does quite long and is perfect to wear on hot humid days when I want a scent bubble that makes me feel fresh and clean! It's funny that the notes are thus, because I literally thought to myself - 'Smells like a melange of aquatic notes, white florals. Update: I now use this as a room spray as for some reason it goes super musky on my skin and loses all those aquatic nuances.

It really is very unique and I've never smelled any perfume like it, which draws me to it as I don't want to smell like every other woman or jump on bandwagons by wearing (often inexplicably! The magnolia note is what I get the most of on me but it's also a bit gourmandishly sweet in the same way that Candie's by Candie's is, I can't really describe it but kinda reminds me of fruity caramel popcorn.

Those qualities save it from being strictly for younger women and teenagers - it’s sophisticated, clean, warm, interesting, and when applied generously, it’s pretty sexy. This was my very first perfume that I picked out for myself completely by myself after sampling many. on most days jasmine is my sworn enemy as it gives me an instantaneous headache (but there are a handful of exceptions so I'm assuming it's the concentration of jasmine in a given product that determines whether I can tolerate it or not as opposed to the jasmine itself), but here despite the many different floral elements it never come across as overbearing, thanks to the heavy cloud of sweetness that sits on top. The description of this fragrance is spot on: "Britney Spears' Curious is a lively, bright and effervescent fruity floral, aimed at twentysomethings with attitude. This is a breathy, softly indolic white floral with airy, white musks in the background, allegedly vanilla-like but I'm not sure I detect it. it also doesn’t have the strongest sillage, but i don’t mind as i mostly wear it on hot days as I said earlier. Much of my earliest memories involve Britney Spears, from dancing to 'Baby One More Time' in front of our clunky old television to staring longingly up at the Britney-marketed hair and skincare products at the local drug mart. I remember being really intrigued by this perfume as a little girl when I saw the commercial for it.
