Brent said: “ How To Kill Men has been my passion project for the past two years and kept me sane(ish) during the now infamous Unprecedented Times. I’m so excited that Kitty Collins – and I – have found a home with HQ. I can’t wait for everyone to meet her.”

Coming to the characters – all were annoying esp. Kitty, who was hypocritical. She hates being an influencer, cribs about it, and yet goes on to enjoy the perks of the lifestyle that her profession offers. Even her friends were quite shallow. some of the ways she transported the victims to their final destinations was a bit far fetched. Does she hit the gym behind the scenes? I'm mainly referring to Joel, unless I misinterpreted how she did it. The casual, conversational writing style is paired with a satirical narrative that is both uncomfortable and entertaining in its use of dark humour and commentary on social issues. Vivid (sometimes gruesome) details and smooth transitions between current and past events also enhance the story and keep it engaging. One night, after a party at the nightclub, Kitty is followed home by a guy who wouldn’t leave her alone and would not take NO for an answer. During the course of the events, she accidentally pushes him causing his instant death. it got extremely repetitive, she would do her daily things and then just kill someone.. over and over. Being a man I really shouldn't like this book. Well I didn't like it. I loved it! Oh I just couldn't stop reading this.' NetGalley reviewer,

The side characters. Each and every one of them felt like a caricature or a parody. None of them were properly fledged out. I also disliked how a lot of them were introduced with their name and then their follower count. Yes, I get that the author was probably trying to empathize Kitty's priorities there, but I still found it dumb. I felt like the ending was so terrible. I was going to rate this book a generous 3.75 out of 5 but after that ending I physically can not give it anything over a 3 stars I loved the humour of this book and couldn't get enough of this story. I definitely recommend this as a must read.' NetGalley reviewer, I highly suspect that a lot of people are not going to like this book because they will not find Kitty likeable. I totally understand that; I am the same way. However, in this case, I actually liked Kitty, in spite of the fact that I often ridicule her kind (Influencers). Once again, her antics and shenanigans made me laugh, while at the same time were incredibly sad too (tragicomedy). This makes her a good MC in my book. And this folks, is why I prefer to read fiction instead of non-fiction! A story doesn’t have to be believable for me to enjoy it. No one flinches when women get murdered by men in fiction, but I have a hunch some people could get worked up about this book. Because the author has turned the tables on us and on society. It's not just women who have to watch their step in Kitty's London, men better be careful too. Not something that the patriarchy is used to and it may cause a bit of a snit.I have always been intrigued by the human mind and especially love psychological thrillers. Specifically, in this context, it is particularly intriguing as mental illnesses make one respond in so many different ways, affecting not only their lives but also those of people around them. When something like this is added to the storyline, we get a gripping tale, the types of which are one of my favourites. The brand name dropping. Does the author get commission for that? Annoying. I get it that she is rich but I don’t care for your gazillion of brand names and amount of followers. How to Kill Men was an absolute treat to read, sending out American Psycho and Promising Young Women vibes.’ NetGalley reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’s absolutely entertaining, smart, twisty, riveting psychological thriller! I’m rounding up 4.5 to 5 extra surprising, sarcastic, darkest stars! I absolutely had so much fun! the plot was definitely interesting and different. There was a lot more that went on than I thought there was going to be I'd recommend this book to people who enjoyed the show Dexter and looking for a woman's take on it.

That probably has a lot more to do with my attitude and opinion of Influencers than anything else. I find them absolutely ridiculous and so many of them remind me of Kitty. I have pretty much the same reactions to them whenever I come across them IRL. I am not ashamed to admit that quite a few of them have been just as unabashed about telling me what to do or where I can go when I have publicly called them and their behavior out at various establishments. That’s a whole other story for another time though😊 She’s the granddaughter of Captain Collins- founder of Collins' Cuts, the reconstructed meat products you see in every freezer and supermarket in the UK. But interestingly she rejects to inherit the bloody family money and staying away from meat products. She still grieves her father who disappeared under false circumstances and she has estranged relationship with her mother who escaped to France, giving her daughter the luxurious London penthouse as farewell gift! I rlly enjoyed the authors writing and felt like it flowed rlly nice but the plot just wasn’t there for me It’s possible I’m not necessarily the target audience for this one as I’m a bit long in the tooth for the Insta Influencer malarkey but that being said, I didn’t half enjoy it! Whilst it makes good points about Male ‘entitlement’ it doesn’t do so in a preachy way, it actually makes more of an impact via the darkly funny, ironic even sarcastic tone the author strikes. Despite her many flaws (apart from the killing obviously) I do like Kitty and her self deprecating tone. She’s intriguing with a great mix of personality traits in a bit of a Villanelle kind of a way. You can totally see too, the influence of Made in Chelsea with some of her friends - I rather enjoy that too!

Kitty is a social media influencer with family problems up the wazoo. Socialite mother dabbling in the literal blood money (her father was a slaughterhouse magnate). Daddy issues from her cold and aloof father teaching her that the cast of Charlotte's Web makes for good eatin'? No wonder she's a vegan with a major hang-up about men. huge disappointment considering this was my biggest anticipated read for may. I don’t remember a single thing about this book besides how bad the ending was.

They’re my constants. The family I was able to choose.” What did you think of Kitty’s friendship group? Being a man I really shouldn't like this book. Well I didn't like it. I loved it! Oh I just couldn't stop reading this.’ NetGalley reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ i really loved how each chapter showed the name of the location they were in (ie certain restaurants or a certain hotel, etc.) Oh yeah, judging people by the amount of followers. I am sc*m then… 😂 I know, I know, on purpose but annoying nevertheless.
