I would not recommend a newcomer start here; you probably wouldn't "get" what the big deal is, a lot has changed. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. A fantastic idea from 2000AD, the Complete Case Files reprint every Dredd story that appeared in the comic. So, this is a bit like the old SF stories where people would get into their space-car and eat space-biscuits for their space-lunch. Aunque no es una mala edición no me ha gustado el tamaño, creo que es demasiado pequeño y, a menudo, me costaba leer algunos de los textos más pequeños. Barr, Alan Grant, John Wagner, Dennis O'Neil, Sam Hamm, Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn, Archie Goodwin, Chuck Dixon, Scott Snyder, David Lapham, Paul Dini, Doug Moench, James Tynion, Greg Rucka, Bill Willingham, Devin Grayson, Ed Brubaker, Steve Englehart, Bob Rozakis, Gerry Conway, Paul Levitz, Paul Kupperberg, J.In the collections I've read so far I haven't gone back this early, and have paid particular note to how "American" the MegaCity culture is so this was surprising.

I cannot engage with the main character, Judge Dredd, who I find to be a fascist and self-centered dude with a big ray gun. It takes the whole book for Dredd to develop into a muscular Terminator-type though not quite up to his '80s self yet. In addition, Millar has reunited with Civil War artist Steve McNiven in both the pages of Wolverine and their creator-owned book Nemesis. Perhaps the most popular 2000 AD artist of all time, Brian Bolland's clean-line style and meticulous attention to detail ensure that his artwork on strips including Dan Dare, Future Shocks, Judge Dredd and Walter the Wobot looks as fresh today as it did when first published. this continues for quite some time and starts to disappear midway through the book, though even at the end the word "lift" was used.Though even it has a few pot shots at fascist ideology like the fact he immediately begins oppressing his fellow robots worse than regular humanity once he uses their oppression to gain power. Still, most of the book is made of short stories, four to nine pages, in a monster-of-the-week format. Written by comic legends John Wagner (A History of Violence) and Alan Grant (Batman) this volume features the art of Steve Dillon (Preacher), Ian Gibson (The Ballad of Halo Jones) and Cliff Robinson, amongst many others. The Judge Joe Dredd of the comics generally is close enough to being the square-jawed hero of other comics that he’s not quite as nuanced or deep a character as he will eventually become. He is judge, jury and executioner, a merciless far-future lawman delivering justice with an iron fist on the mean streets of Mega-City One.

Still, some of the satire is still biting like the fact the Statue of Liberty gets replaced by a bigger Statue of Justice. This is probably why, even though I enjoy the Marvel movies and The Walking Dead, I have never been one to try and get the entire history behind them or compare original stories with the movie version or what's on TV. His character slowly takes form as the book and progs go on, but it’s weird to see him almost be funny a couple of times and be fond of Walter his annoying robot butler. This latest collection of Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files sees Dredd continue to track down the murderous PJ Maybe, take the Scottish artist Kenny Who to court, and stop the angry war veteran-turned-Mandroid Nate Slaughterhouse.Volume 15 features stories published in the very first issues of 2000 AD’s monthly sister publication, The Judge Dredd Megazine. The most notable thing about the story is the inclusion of Johnny Alpha, Strontium Dog, after Dredd 2000AD‘s most popular strip.
