It encompasses design of drugs, their manufacture and the elimination of micro-organisms from the products. I bought this book for my class in Pharmaceutical Technology and with a strong background in Physical Chemistry I found this book very good for the transition from Physical Chemistry to Physical Pharmacy. Pharmaceutics is one of the most diverse subject areas in pharmaceutical science and an understanding of it is vital for all pharmacists and scientists involved in converting drugs to medicines that can be safely delivered to a patient. G. Taylor, BPharm PhD FRPharmS, Professor of Clinical Pharmaceutics, UCL School of Pharmacy, London, UK and Michael E. The philosophy of this sixth edition is unchanged from earlier editions; the book comprehensively covers all aspects of pharmaceutics and is intentionally structured and written for newcomers to the formulation and manufacture of medicines, particularly pharmacy undergraduates. All aspects of pharmaceutics are covered in a clear and readily accessible way and extensively illustrated throughout, providing an essential companion to the entire pharmaceutics curriculum from day one until the end of the course. For the first three editions, Prof Mike Aulton (Emeritus Professor, De Montfort University and Fellow of the School of Pharmacy) was sole editor of this textbook, which is widely known as “ Aulton”.
