Adverse reactions identified during post-marketing use are listed below. The frequency of these reactions is unknown but likely to be rare. Treatment with activated charcoal should be considered if the overdose has been taken within 1 hour. Plasma paracetamol concentration should be measured at 4 hours or later after ingestion (earlier concentrations are unreliable). Treatment with N-acetylcysteine may be used up to 24 hours after ingestion of paracetamol, however, the maximum protective effect is obtained up to 8 hours post-ingestion. The effectiveness of the antidote declines sharply after this time. If required the patient should be given intravenous N-acetylcysteine, in line with the established dosage schedule. If vomiting is not a problem, oral methionine may be a suitable alternative for remote areas, outside hospital. Management of patients who present with serious hepatic dysfunction beyond 24h from ingestion should be discussed with the NPIS or a liver unit. Each 20ml liquid contains 500mg paracetamol, 200mg guaifenesin and 10mg phenylephrine. Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over should take one 20ml measured dose (or four 5ml spoonfuls) every four hours as necessary. Do not take more than four doses in 24 hours.

Side effects: See SPC for full details. Hypersensitivity reactions e.g. rhinitis, angioedema, urticaria, bronchospasm, skin reactions and anaphylaxis. Nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal ulceration, gastrointestinal haemorrhage and gastritis. Renal dysfunction, increased blood uric acid levels, elevation in aminotransferase levels, prolonged bleeding time, thrombocytopenia, ecchymosis, sodium and fluid retention bronchospasm, tinnitus, temporary hearing loss, nervousness and dizziness. Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well. This is because too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage. You should use either the tablets OR the liquid. Don't use both together. • Beechams all in one tablets Hypertensive interactions occur between sympathomimetic amines such as phenylephrine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (see contraindications).. Contains paracetamol. Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine. Do not take with other flu, cold or decongestant products. Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. If you do not get better, talk to your doctor. Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well.Dosage: Liquid: Adults and children 16 years and over: One 20 ml measured dose. Repeat every four hours as necessary. Do not exceed four doses per 24 hours. Do not take continuously for more than 5 days without medical advice. Not to be given to children under 16 years except on medical advice. Tablets: Adults and children 12 years and over: Two tablets. Repeat every four hours as necessary. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours. Not to be given to children under 12 years except on medical advice. Contains sorbitol (E420): Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance should not take this medicine. The following adverse events have been observed in clinical trials with phenylephrine and may therefore represent the most commonly occurring adverse events. ike all medicines, Beechams All in One Tablets can have side effects, but not everybody gets them. Guaifenesin 100 mg and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 5 mg. This product should not be used by patients taking other sympathomimetics (such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants) (see section 4.5). Other ingredients Lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, maize starch, stearic acid, colloidal anhydrous silica, purified talc, povidone, potassium sorbate (E 202), hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), and polyethylene glycol.

Concomitant use of phenylephrine with other sympathomimetic amines can increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects.

This product should not be used by patients taking other sympathomimetics (such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants) Side effects: See SPC for full details. Do not take this medicine with any other products that contain paracetamol, as this can easily result in exceeding the maximum dose of paracetamol. It's fine to take Beechams all in one with plain ibuprofen or aspirin (assuming these are appropriate for you). However, don't take it with co-codamol, co-dydramol or Tramacet because these contain paracetamol.
