L'Imperatrice feels fun, its fruity and a bit sweet but to my nose, it isn't sticky, it reminds me of a fruity shower gel or shampoo. It's a fragrance that leaves an impression, just as the memories associated with it have left an indelible mark in my heart. This is in the same range as my dearly beloved Eau du Ciel, which some people may classify as a bit juvenile, but I feel that it is just fresh, clean, natural smelling, and gorgeous ON!

Smells like wine, and bright red high fructose corn syrup laden fruit punch that a kid would drink at a pool party. If you need lotions, I've found Tree Hut Watermelon body butter and Hempz Coconut Watermelon lotion do a great job extending longevity and adding a touch of gourmand sweetness.The jolly rancher note is tangy and makes my mouth water, but since it's immediately followed by the smell of sweat. This is so close to L'Imperatrice 3 that it is hard to distinguish - unless you are testing these side by side on your arms.

A work of beauty and absolutely a summer date night staple when the very air is ripe with sweaty sex, sunscreen and lazy heat: l’impératrice cuts through it all like sashaying in a gorgeous pink gown or a splash of cold water on your face, and refreshes your senses. It is the perfect musky warm and fruity fresh scent but also really hard to explain, and I have smelt it for years! I think finding the right perfume for you is similar to finding the right person, some magic in the air and suddenly… by instinct, there is a deep commitment/conviction and you are no longer interested in what’s out there. The flacon has a refined, rectilinear silhouette, topped with a minimalist black cap and grounded by a linear yet important glass base. I would get the small bottle of this and test it out since Vilhelm only says Mango Skin in the full size bottle.The major con is that it can come off smelling like armpit sweat on hot days, or like sour watermelon on the verge of rotting…it’s the combination of the tangy notes (kiwi and rhubarb) and musk causing that BO effect in the heat. I don’t like that there are more strawberry and rose notes, it gives the whole thing a cough syrup vibe.

Honestly, not the kind of scent I would imagine to embody the Empress card in tarot, but on its own is good, clean and fruity fragrances done right. This parfum is contained with a refined and sensual bottle that will look beautiful on your dressing table. I just wish it had a little more to give, but I love it and I would rather deal with its faults than not at all. It has become my go-to for those cozy moments at home and those casual outings, like going to doctor's appointments. Again, I hope that this bottle was somehow exposed to some extreme conditions that caused it to go bad because what I have in front of me is horrendous.With its delightful watermelon aroma, it instantly uplifts my mood and brings a refreshing vibe to my surroundings. Upon immediate spray a sour note appears, a screechy, acrid thing that evokes similarities to cleaning detergent.

ETA: if you like this but want more unisex spiciness, I think Moschino's Gold Fresh Couture is related. Opens smelling like a car freshener before drying down to smell like my floor cleaner product only less chemical and more wearable for humans. It's not atrocious, but I don't get any of the watermelon notes others have mentioned and generally feel this presents as quite an immature scent. It's interesting to get the scent with sweetness coming from fruit instead of the typical vanilla/tonka/amber.This only lasts an hour or two on my skin, so I have been trying to find something that is in this same fragrance genre that will last longer. Smells clean and fresh, like you just got out of the shower, which really, is all that you might want on hot days spent outdoors.
