Description

Lily arrived into our care having been transferred from the RSPCA. She arrived completely unhandled but has taken time to settle at our centre and is doing extremely well. She can still be timid and unsure of her surroundings so would thrive in a quiet set up with someone who has lots of time to give her, ideally to live with other young ponies. Lily is happy to live with mares or geldings and has lived out 24/7 since being at the centre, we hope to introduce her to stabling very soon now she has settled in well. a b Lindgren; etal. (2004). Pony breeds have developed all over the world, particularly in cold and harsh climates where hardy, sturdy working animals were needed. They are remarkably strong for their size. Breeds such as the Connemara pony are recognized for their ability to carry a full-sized adult rider. Pound for pound ponies can pull and carry more weight than a horse. [12] Draft-type ponies are able to pull loads significantly greater than their own weight, with larger ponies capable of pulling loads comparable to those pulled by full-sized draft horses, and even very small ponies are able to pull as much as 450 percent of their own weight. [13] Must be at least 5 years old and 15.1hh or larger. Soundness and temperament most important, we are happy to do any necessary schooling and training with the right horse so being green is not an issue. Must be good to handle on the ground. A.M. The pony would be kept at home with our 3 other horses and ponies (2 of which are loan ponies) and would be well looked after. connemara x irish type - Kind and caring for our more disabled riders to enjoy - must like people and happy to have people walking by the side to help the riders. Some horses may be pony height due to environment more than genetics. For example, the Chincoteague pony, a feral horse that lives on Assateague Island off the coasts of Maryland and Virginia, often matures to the height of an average small horse when raised from a foal under domesticated conditions. [14] There is debate over whether the feral Chincoteague ponies of Assateague Island are horses or ponies They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

Gonk would love a little family to call his own where he may have the potential to be a little lead rein pony in time or a companion for other youngsters and playful ponies. We are looking for suitable horses to join us at our yard in the Surrey Hills. To buy, loan or gift - Must be open to vetting. Hopefully there is a much loved outgrown 14hh to 15hh out there that would suit our kind, confident, capable daughter/mother daughter share. Mia is looking for a home where they can continue their training, she be best suited to a quiet home where she has equine company at all times. Mia is best suited to living with geldings as she gets attached to other mares. The smallest equines are called miniature horses by many of their breeders and breed organizations, rather than ponies, even though they stand smaller than small ponies, [12] usually no taller than 38 inches (97cm; 9.2 hands) at the withers. However, there are also miniature pony breeds.Herd turnout, with stabling possible. Lots of interesting and varied work including dressage competitions and fun rides, not just plodding round on a lead rein! Ideally close to Wiltshire, bit willing to travel to view if not too far away. Edith is 6 years old and has been with us for just over 2 years now, originally brought as a companion for a foal. Irish Draught 8yrs upwards for our taller riders to enjoy in walk, trot and canter - able to compete in RDA dressage at all levels. Jumping for fun would also be a bonus.
