Since changing the naming scheme to 94xx wouldn’t be enough to convey the supposed improvements, Braun added the word Pro as well. If I’ve got this right and either of these pre-shaves require hot water wash first, would I want to shave, pop off the head and how water wash, let it dry overnight, then (dry, of course) stick it in the cleaning station in the morning before shaving. I did find in the manual, under Charging the Shaver in the CC Station: “Important: The shaver needs to be dry and free from any foam or soap residue! I don’t think the difference between the old and new parts is significant in this regard, but I still highly recommend getting the updated cassettes as some of the older ones were prone to breaking. Shaving shouldn’t inflict significant discomfort provided that we take care of the basics (a suitable razor and good technique).

Regarding the updated shaving heads for the Series 9 (92s/92b), I couldn’t tell you if they last longer since I haven’t used my 9290cc for that long.Engineered, tested and made in Germany, Series 9 foil shavers give you a shave different from the rest. I’d say that it shaves slightly closer, but it’s not quite as gentle and forgiving on very sensitive skin (more details later on). Regarding the orientation of the Series 9 shaving head, I wouldn’t say that one way is better than the other.

In the case of the older Series 7 (799cc, 797cc) the wet/dry use only refers to shaving in the shower, with no explicit reference to shaving creams and gels. I firmly believe that Titanium is used only as the coating, not as foil material, it would be to expensive to manufacture mass. Precisely, the gold trimmer has a larger gap between the two rows of teeth which are also recessed a bit. It’s unlikely for anything serious to happen, but I personally wouldn’t use a talc powder and then clean my razor in the cleaning station. I guess I lucked out: I bought a 9095cc as soon as they were available and was due to replace the head in July. We cannot discuss Series 9 performance differences without comparing the S9 Pro to the regular Series 9, be it a 93, 92 or 90 models, but also to the PRO+.You can use the new updated shaving heads (92s and 92b) with the first generation Series 9 like the 9095cc.
