Approximate height of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. will also see Philips introduce a new version of its picture processing engine. Referred to as the 5th Gen P5 AI processor, this new engine improves upon 2020's 4th Gen P5 through the addition of features such as a new AI Film mode that's designed automatically to get the best out of movie content, a more intelligently integrated light sensor that adjusts all content based on ambient lighting, and Fast Motion Clarity, which is said to improve the smoothness and sharpness of fast action, in particular that of sports and games. Support for Dolby's premium sound and video formats means the HDR content you watch will look-and sound-glorious. You'll enjoy a picture that reflects the director's original intentions and experience spacious sound with real clarity and depth. For 2021, Philips is doubling-down on this exclusive tech by making it available across more of its TV range and adding an Ambilight strip to the bottom edge of more models. This fourth side of Ambilight probably won't make a huge difference if the TV is placed on a stand, but it should look fabulous if you go down the wall-mounted route. Android TV 10 With Philips ambilight every moment feels closer. Intelligent LEDs around the edge of the TV respond to the on-screen action and emit an immersive glow that's simply captivating. Experience it once and wonder how you enjoyed TV without it.

Mini LED joins the Philips family of TVs, promising thin screens and blazing HDR brightness. However, Philips won’t be wading into the 8K with no models on the horizon. The OLED+986 is what Philips describes as a statement TV. It comes in just one size. It's a seriously premium build of all glass and metal, where possible, with a Bowers & Wilkins three-speaker sound system built into the floorstand. It's also possible to wallmount this set-up. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio.

You work at BID, what a legend.

All of its new OLED and MiniLED models have two full-speed (48gbps) HDMI 2.1 connections, and the sets support 4K@120Hz (also known as HFR), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel), all of which will be big news for gamers in particular. 5th Gen P5 AI processor For the time being, the OLED+935 continues through to 2021 with its successor likely coming in the second half of the year. The OLED+935 has the 4th Gen P5 AI processor with its dedicated AI Machine Learn Sharpness function, and improved versions of the AI Smart Bit Enhancement system and Perfect Natural Reality (PNR) function for upscaling sub-4K images and handling motion. The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively. Philips says these models will use a “high quality” VA panel for wider viewing angles, and a wide colour gamut that hits 95% of the DCI-P3 spectrum for accurate colours. Full speed ahead with next-gen gaming

An additional sixth category has been added in Film detection. Film Detection flags any movie content, giving the viewer the chance to switch to a new Home Cinema Mode, Pure Cinema Mode or Filmmaker Mode. Speaking of Filmmaker Mode, it will be a named picture preset so the viewers can actually select it from the menu. From the OLED856 to the 9206, 4K/120Hz, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro will be supported. Philips is finally a TV tuned for gamers. Other than the underlying panel technology, Philips' new MiniLED models seem to match their OLED siblings, so it will be fascinating to see which TVs deliver the best overall performance when we test them later in the year. HDMI 2.1 and gaming features Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) From a games perspective the 9206 gets VRR, ALLM and AMD’s FreeSync Pro. The 50W 2.1 sound system matches the 9506 Mini LED with its rear mounted woofer and patented triple ring technology for enhanced bass. This is the first TV in the range that isn’t CalMAN ready for anyone interested in picture calibration up to a professional standard. Philips has not officially announced the OLED706, which gives us the impression it’s due later in the year and likely the re-introduction of its cheaper OLED model (like the OLED754). Its specification is a near match for the OLED806, from its P5 AI processor down to its 50W 2.1 sound system. The biggest differences we can tell are the three-sided Ambilight and a less premium remote.

This time there's a 3.1.2ch Dolby Atmos soundbar strapped onto the stand which makes for a very tidy flagship OLED TV solution indeed. It comes in 48in, 55in and 65in sizes and the satisfaction that each time the soundbar has been tuned to make sure that the audio sounds as if it's coming from the centre of the screen. Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white outputAdvancements over the 2020 OLED+935 include HDMI 2.1 capability that makes this OLED better suited for gaming, while the OS is Android TV 10 (no confirmation as to whether Google TV is coming yet).

Information about the maximum horizontal viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality. Dimensions, weight and color Information about the dimensions and the weight of the specific model with and without stand as well as the colors, in which it is offered to the market. Width Philips has never been one to follow the herd when it comes to picture features, and with the 65PUS7601 the company continues in that vein. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing in performance terms, as we’ll see later, but it can make the 65PUS7601 complex to use. For those not already in the know, Ambilight is a Philips technology that extends the onscreen action onto the wall around the TV in the form of coloured light. Not only does it look fabulous, it also increases perceived contrast, makes the screen seem bigger than it really is, and draws the eye more effectively into the action. We love it. Sitting below ‘The One’ is the 7906. The AmbiSleep/Sunrise feature where the TV can emit a warm glow and sounds in the morning/night is left out. The picture processor drops to the Pixel Plus Ultra HD, and motion interpolation is only available on the 70- and 75-inch models.
