Description

The blue paper and the substrate are connected through an opening in the lower part of the Watering Indicator. If the substrate is moist, the paper will absorb water and the indicator display will be blue. When the substrate becomes dry as the water is absorbed into the plant, the Watering Indicator no longer receives any water and the colour will change to "red". The organic plant granules can also completely replace your potting soil. They store water well to reduce your watering needs, especially on hot days. Examine the roots carefully for fungi or pests. If signs of illness are found, then immerse the specimen in warm, clean water. If after that you additionally process the roots with special means, then the culture can be considered saved. Although eggs, larvae and mold do not survive in this formulation, this problem cannot always be avoided using rainwater. Rainwater contains micro-dust, which gradually accumulates between the soil granules, and pathogens feel quite comfortable in these intervals. Therefore, do not use rainwater when watering orchids.

Seramis Plant Granules for All Indoor Plants 25 Litres

With SERAMIS® you are able to grow healthy and beautiful plants. SERAMIS® Plant Granulate offers even more advantages: it is light-weight; it does not age or compress; re-potting is easy and possible at any time, regardless of the age and size of plant. Made from pure clay mined in Germany, Seramis is a high quality growing medium suitable for use in drip re-circulating hydroponic systems and passive hydroculture. The porous granules distribute moisture evenly to the roots and provide optimal oxygenation. The roots grow into the porous surface of the granules, extracting water and nutrients as needed, whilst being optimally supplied with oxygen.Mix the granules with normal potting soil to loosen it and aerate the root balls of your plants and increase their access to nutrients. We recommend a mixing ratio of at least 10% organic plant granules to soil. The higher the percentage of granules, the better the water storage.

Seramis clay granules are hard, which stops helps stop them from compacting down, allowing free drainage and good oxygenation of plant roots. The superb surface porosity allows each granule to hold 100% of its own weight in water. Because it holds so much water it can be used as an alternative to soil and coco when hand-watering, or as an alternative to regular clay pebbles or coco in a hydroponic system. Seramis has a natural pH of 5.2 to 6.0 and has a very low salt level. How to use Seramis: Choose a convenient time for the transfer. It is important that by this time the orchid has already bloomed. At the same time, the peduncle is eliminated so that after transplanting the flower renews its vital energy. The soil is suitable for use in planters. Reliably retains moisture, prevents fluid from flowing through the drain. When using it, there is no need for a pallet. After your grow, the medium can be re-used. Simply remove the roots and wash it thoroughly. Using an enzyme product will help to break down any remaining root-hairs. Doing this means that it can be used many times over, making it a very economical medium.

According to the representatives of the Seramis company themselves, the complex is suitable for all types of orchids, although according to the personal experience of some flower growers, this is not entirely true. In their opinion, it is preferable to use a mixture for phalaenopsis. Many florists have managed to grow Cattleya, Wanda, Dendrobium, Miltonia orchids using this product. Seramis Clay Granulate is a fine grade of fired clay that’s becoming more and more popular with growers everywhere! It holds an incredible amount of water, even beating that of soil or coco, yet its granular structure still allows free drainage. Great stuff! For comparison, hydrogels and zeolites from hard water deteriorate after a few years, and “Seramis” with the same watering will last until the end of the plant’s life.
