This novel was gripping from the start. There was a bit of mystery to it. At times it was quite sad but also beautiful and eye-opening. This book was really good!!!! For me, it was a real departure from the two KH books I’ve already read (The Nightingale and The Great Alone) and I’m sure that’s because it’s one of her older books.
