Description

She is the author/illustrator of many books for children including Mr Bear, the winner of a Children's Book Award. Large held Small snug as they looked out at the night, at the moon in the dark, and the stars shining bright. The stars feature heavily in the illustrations too remind those who have read it before how stars are always there, just sometimes we can’t see them. When Small, a little fox who feels "grim and grumpy," wrecks the living room, Large knows something is wrong, and a back-and-forth exchange begins, with Small posing a series of questions: Would Large still love her, if she were a bear? This is a stunning book, the magic is all in the words as Big reassures Small that she will always love him no matter what.

Picture books that are reassuring can help soothe a child, help them know that they are loved–or should be loved. Our Step-by-step Guides and Planning Tools enable you to quietly gather your thoughts and safely save information. DEBI GLIORI is the award-winning author and illustrator of many Bloomsbury picture books including the Alfie series, The Trouble with Dragons, Dragon Love Penguin and the bestselling No Matter What. So beautiful for a childrens book, a lovely way to show your child about love and acceptance from a young age.A reference to how stars still shine when they die is a lovely way to deal with this issue in a child friendly way. No matter what you look like, where you live or who your parents are, YOU are loved – just as you are! Told in endearing rhyming couplets, it's the story of Small, who is feeling insecure and unloved, and his mother, Large, who must reassure Small that she will always love him, no matter what. This is so important to me as a single parent and great to have a book which doesn't impose a 'mummy' and a 'daddy' family. Item despatched quickly and as described, but damaged in transit due to plastic wrap packaging being inadequate protection.

She then received a travelling scholarship award to go to Milan, and worked as a freelance from 1984 onwards. Gliori (Tell Me Something Happy Before I Go to Sleep) here explores anxiety about the limits of a parent's love--especially whether it can survive a bout of pint-size bad behavior. With a gentle, rhyming text and illustrations that exude a snuggly warmth, she offers a reassuring, though ultimately cloying answer. il nostro libro preferito, lo avevamo già nella versione italiana e ho deciso di acquistarlo anche in inglese per leggerlo a mio figlio di 6 anni. After finding two abandoned presents, Santa Baby and Roo embark on a race against time to deliver the gifts. Unfortunately, Gliori pushes her point a bit too hard with a closing treacly analogy to the light of stars: "We may be close, we may be far,/ but our love still surrounds us. One section stopped me short while reading, since it felt un-childlike, and in a different tone than the rest of the book, almost formal: “But does love wear out? I guess you could be very liberal with your interpretation and see this as dealing with grief/death, but it's not explicit enough for me and this does NOT count as a "help your child cope with grief" book for me at all. With puff-pastry jetpacks, shortcrust walkie-talkies and squirty whipped cream they foil the villains - with a bit of help from Santa.
