Description

With other models you can sometimes manage to push a few extra miles per hour on a descent but, in the case of the One Max, that wasn’t the case and I was unable to get above 15.5mph at any point. However, that’s more than fast enough for any journey. The display on the Decent One is what one might expect: it shows your speed as well as the battery power and ride mode. The accelerator is a button/switch on the right-hand handlebar, on which the power button and menu button are also housed (this is somewhat unusual as such buttons are normally incorporated into the top of the stem/dash). Out of the box not much needs doing to the Decent One Max; it’s simple fixing ring and folding lever makes it a 10-second job to set up and collapse it for storage under a desk or on a train, though you will need a small hex key/Allen wrench to tighten the brake and you'll need to screw on the handlebars. If you're looking for something slightly more robust, however, we'd suggest looking at the models from Pure and Xiaomi, which currently sit it T3's best electric scooter guide. The Decent One Max feels stable going at speed. Its 10-inch vacuum-sealed tires prove sturdy enough to go over kerbs and other small obstacles without any clunks, though bad or dirt roads significantly reduce its top speed. They still perform much better than the smaller 8-inch tyres found on some rivals. Decent One Max electric scooter review: Battery life As mentioned, the Decent One's 36V Li-ion battery is located in the handlebar stem (like the original Ninebot models), whereas the majority of scooters now house their battery in the base (including the Ducati Scrambler, which also has a replaceable battery). The Decent One Max is essentially the same scooter but has a larger battery, which attaches to the stem. This is a Grade C product which has seen significant use. These scooters are in a fully functional condition and may show signs of significant use including deep scratches to body work and considerable wear to the grip tape and other aspects of the scooter. May have missing parts to the aesthetic which do not play a role in the functionality of the scooter. Includes a 14 day warranty. Please note that images will only be for reference and may not represent the true condition of the model.

As with many models, the brake lever with attached bell is on the left of the handlebar and the thumb throttle accelerator to the right. The LED display sits in the middle of the stem, displaying your current speed, riding mode and how much battery life is remaining. It’s important to make clear at this point that electric scooters are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs) in the UK and therefore illegal to ride unless you’re on private land with the landowner’s permission. The Decent One is powerful, sleek and capable e-scooter. It offers the rider an extremely smooth ride thanks to it’s large 10" wheels and also features a removable battery allowing you to change the battery in seconds. The Decent One comes with a 36V, 180 Wh, which is average. However, as with the X7, the rated power is 350 Watts and this is above average (the Essential's power is 250 Watts). It may be that providing the extra power has had a detrimental effect on the range of the Decent One, for a 12 mile range is slightly below average. Of course, the idea is that this shorter range is compensated for by having replaceable batteries. Life would certainly be a lot easier if you could easily change your phone battery. The scooter has a 350W motor and 10in wheels with pneumatic tyres, while an IP54 weather-resistance rating gives you protection against the elements. At 15kg, it’s lighter than other models with similar specs. It also comes with cruise control, but you can’t pair it with your smartphone to access extra features.

The Decent One Max is a, well, decent option for those looking for an electric scooter. It offers a long range of 20 miles and a high top speed of 18.6mph. It's also pretty reasonably priced. The killer feature here is the removable battery, which makes recharging a dream.

Charged in under six hours , these modular batteries allow you to have a spare charging (externally from the scooter, using the standard charger) and always ready to go. With a drop-in-fitting and upgraded capacities available, your range is only limited to how many you can carry. Features: User-swappable battery– You can remove the battery from a Decent One scooter in seconds, with no tools.
