Engage kindergarteners in learning and fun with these interactive books that celebrate twins. From educational activities to magical adventures, these books are perfect for young readers exploring the special bond of twins. The twins either died from drugs, had seizures due to withdrawal, or entered into some unknowable suicide pact. Fellow doctors at the time proposed a kind of Columbo killer mystery method that involved injecting poisons into the body in places where you would never find it, like a hemorrhoid. "I will tell you something: any smart physician could dispose of himself by a mechanism which could never be discovered by anyone, including his insurance companies," one of the doctors cryptically explained. "I have no evidence, but I know the way I’d do it if I were going to... I can tell you this: you’re not gonna find out."

After returning to Britain, Alfred and Henry were awarded the MBE. But the Twins had been deeply affected by both physical and mental scars. I loved every minute of this book and would highly recommend this one to fans of a twisty, unpredictable psychological thriller. Go ahead, add this one to your TBR, you will love this gripping, original tale! We're Very Good Friends, My Brother and I byP. K. Hallinan: Celebrate the special connection between twin brothers as they engage in various activities and cherish their friendship.

Henry could never work again, and though they both remarried, Jacobs considered they had "sad lonely lives in the end." Alfred died in 1978 and Henry in 1980. Identical twins Margo and Cora live in London. Although they look so similar that sometimes even those closest to them mistake one for the other, they couldn’t be more different. Their world changed,” says historian Peter Jacobs about the brothers. “We cannot overemphasise the importance of that moment. That’s what drove them to what they did.” Margo is a live-in nanny for a wealthy family who also have twins and Cora is a ballet dancer who is auditioning for a part in the show Mirror, Mirror, which could be her breakthrough role. We hope these books will bring joy, intrigue, and insightful conversations to your reading time. If you have already shared any of these books with your children, we'd love to hear about your experiences. Or perhaps you've come across other exceptional books about twins that are not on our list. Sharing these recommendations can help create a community around these valuable resources. The tough-looking brothers had performed as the tap-dancing Boorn Brothers, which they described as “a crazy comedy and tap dancing act.” They played Europe, South America, and topped the bill in London before the war. No Two Alike byKeith Baker: Celebrate the uniqueness of each snowflake in Keith Baker's delightful book. Through stunning illustrations and simple text, young readers will discover the beauty of winter and the wonder of nature's creations. Just Like Twins byBobbi G. Weiss: Follow the adventures of two best friends who are so close that they consider themselves like twins, sharing laughter and supporting each other along the way. What Alfred and Henry Newton did next is the subject of Peter Jacobs’ new book – The Twins: The SOE's Brothers of Vengeance – a story which sounds more like a Hollywood film plot than real-life events: two tap-dancing brothers who vow bloody revenge on the Nazis, join an undercover military operation, and have to survive the brutality of the Buchenwald concentration camp. Shakespeare was interested in twins. He included not one but two pairs of identical twins in The Comedy of Errors, as well as Viola and Sebastian in Twelfth Night. The latter are obviously not identical, but after Viola disguises herself as a man, they apparently become indistinguishable (some suspension of disbelief is required). This leads to all manner of comedic confusion. Of course, Shakespeare himself was also the father of twins, Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet died at 11, about five years before Twelfth Night was written, and this knowledge gives added poignancy to Viola and Sebastian’s reunion at the end of the play, each having believed the other dead.

Barbie was only 29 years old when he went there,” says Jacobs. “It staggers me to think that someone so young could act in such an evil way. It was unfortunate for the Twins – they happened to be caught during his early days, when he was trying to make an impression and break the will of the French.” The story is told from both Core and Margo’s perspectives, moving from one to the other between the chapters. These two sisters are very different and you are drawn to both. They share their story with you leaving you amazed at the different opinions they have. The author draws you into these sisters’ world beautifully with this original story. L V Matthews writes a compelling tale, I am eager to read more of her work. After a warning from the American Counsel, which said that all British civilians should leave France, their family headed for Lisbon, where they could board a boat to England. The brothers, held in a low-level camp for their nuisance-causing antics, escaped over the Pyrenees mountains. They were briefly imprisoned in Spain before being taken to the British Embassy in Madrid. It was there that a military attaché told Alfred and Henry about their family’s deaths on the Avoceta.Their experience was perhaps typical of men who'd served in organisations like the SOE, which was disbanded after the war. The story itself is also fast paced, and full of fancy technology talk that I’ve come to love with the Fowl novels, without dumbing down the language for a younger audience. The writing overall also still retains a lot of humour, and is so easy to read. The threats and scrapes the boys get into feel realistic too, and the villain of the piece is great. Transported to Liverpool, Alfred and Henry were among the first non-armed forces personnel recruited into the Special Operation Executives (SOE). Along with the Commandos – which carried out raids in Europe – the SOE was formed in 1940 as part of an initiative by Winston Churchill. Overview: Okay so...this book surprised he hell out of me. There I was enjoying a great story between twins who are completely different with a bit of a mystery thrown in and then...BAM! That twist happens and I'm left with my jaw hanging. And I don't know why I didn't see it coming because it's a similar twist to my own psychological thriller series! Completely amazing and thoroughly enjoyable read.

As Margo’s supply of anxiety tablets runs out, she starts to remember fragments of how Annie died. Margo’s therapist and Cora’s ex-boyfriend also provide Margo with some clues. But can she take the truth? I liked that it continued on with some of the subtle good messages and morals, such as being environmentally friendly. Always good for children reading. Philosophical banter … Matt Lucas as Tweedledee and Tweedledum in Tim Burton’s film Alice in Wonderland. Photograph: Disney/AllstarTwins at St Clare's byEnid Blyton: Join Pat and Isabel O'Sullivan as they start their new life at St. Clare's boarding school, encountering adventures, friendship, and plenty of mischief along the way. A reimagining of Sophocles’ Antigone, this moving, elegant novel follows twins Aneeka and Parvaiz and their older sister Isma as they grapple in strikingly different ways with the tension between family loyalty and the laws of society. After Parvaiz joins Isis and is killed, Aneeka mounts a vigil in protest against the UK’s refusal to repatriate his body. In exploring complex questions of duty and identity, Shamsie delivers a novel that feels both timeless, and distinctly of its time.
