Palisades Toys before going out of business in 2006 produced two series of 4″ scale Army of Darkness figures. As soon as I came back home that summer I convinced my dad that we should head to Blockbuster and check out the other films. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic cult classic movie The Evil Dead, NECA is excited to release a special Ultimate Ash 7" scale action figure!

There's a nice bit of texturing on his shirt and pants that should satisfy anyone dedicated to film accuracy. Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process. They mention that it is a great figure with an amazing likeness and comes complete with all his interchangeable weapons.The sleeves are nearly ripped off, it’s loaded with cuts and tears, and he’s got a series of belts around his torso holding it together. I couldn't tell you what Ash's shoes looked like in the first movie off hand but this seems to be a pretty good replica of them as far as I can tell.

Ash does use a chainsaw in The Evil Dead but it's a different model from what he uses in the sequels. NECA, one of many collectable toy manufacturers first utilized the Army of Darkness license with head knocker figures of all things. I don't think that's really possible, though, so it's weird for NECA to include accessories for that pose, use that pose on the box, but then not ensure that the figure can take that pose.
