This is an actual Bible with all 66 books and comes in the NIrV translation to ease young readers into being able to read the Bible on their very own. The NIrV is not my favorite translation, and certainly not the most reliable, but it is a great way to bridge the gap between children’s Bible story books and the NIV, ESV, or even King James translations. Christian Children’s Books Toddlers will still probably enjoy their Baby Bibles too! So break those out from time to time, especially the interactive ones like the lift-the-flap and touch-and-feel ones. At this point you want to imprint key stories and concepts into their minds and you want to make reading the Bible with them an enjoyable experience that they will look forward to. It’s all about creating good habits for later on at this point. Why you should have a variety of Bibles for toddlers. This is one of the first story Bibles I read with my kids. The simple language engages the understanding of my preschoolers, while the bold, bright colors capture the attention of even our babies. Only 14 main Bible stories are included in this story Bible, but it is a favorite of ours. Read-Aloud Bible Stories– For ages: 1-6. Obviously, an illustrated children’s Bible book certainly could not…but I want my children to hear as much of the Bible as they can, which includes the many stories we find in the Good Book. As our children grow…so does their attention span and understanding of these stories so I think it important to have age-appropriate Bibles in our home. While these aren’t storybook Bibles, they are excellent Bible based books that are perfect for toddlers. Wow! The Good News in Four Words

We all know that children can blurt out awkward truths at the wrong moment. We are also often guilty of trying to reinterpret and reframe their faith when they talk about God in ways that don’t ‘fit’ with what we like to hear. Yet God’s Spirit emerges in the lives of children in all kinds of ways and we need to discern it. We believe that God is the loving Father of all kids. It is HIS divine will that young people come to faith in Jesus Christ and find salvation through the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit to bring them to faith. When your child is as young a toddler (or a baby) it’s a smart idea to have a variety of different Bibles for a few different reasons. Through interactive adventures and beautiful animations, kids explore the big stories of the Bible. The Bible App for Kids is a delight-filled experience designed to encourage kids to return again and again. It’s the beginning of a lifelong love of God’s Word. But I’d like to stress that reading the REAL Bible with your children is also very important. Reading these fun little Bible story collections should not be a replacement to reading God’s Word straight from the Bible to your children. Take time to introduce them to the “big family Bible”, from the moment they are born and beyond. This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the absolute, without a doubt, best Bible for toddlers… well, the best Bible for any age actually!

Well, besides the fact that toddlers are just energy filled and unpredictable, it could be that the children’s Bible you were using was not the best choice to use as a toddler Bible. There are a lot of great Bible storybooks out there that are better saved for kids who are a little bit older, have longer attention spans, and have moved past the tendency to use the couch as a jungle gym during story time. What makes a great toddler Bible? This is a great Bible option for kids, even elementary-aged and middle-grade kids. The text is written for kids, which helps make it understandable, digestible, and applicable for kids. This board-book baby Bible, much like The Pajama Bible, is written in beautiful poetry. There are only 10 stories included and they are relatively short (around 2 paragraphs each–perfect for a baby’s short attention span). The Bible itself is large enough to hug and the entire book is covered with a snuggly, sheep-like fabric (which you can’t see from the picture)! The emphasis of every story is on God’s love for us. This is now my go-to baby Bible for baby showers and baby gifts! In 2015 the world was horrified at the photograph of a drowned three-year-old child who perished in an attempt by his father to reach Europe via a dangerous sea crossing. We feel instinctively that children above all should have the chance of life and that the death of a child is a particular violation of the way life is supposed to work out. Yet despite all our sophistication, development and technology, we still live in a world where children continue to die needlessly every day through disease, violence, war, poverty or exploitation. This is my absolute favorite children’s bible ever written (thus far). Sally Lloyd-Jones does a beautiful job of writing over 40 of the most important stories in narrative form, including our need for a rescuer (Jesus) in every single story (even in the Old Testament). The illustrations are a bit more abstract, but still capture the essence of each story. If you are looking for ONE bible to read together as a family, THIS is the one! Even though babies will not understand or retain the baby Bible stories you read to them, I believe it is important for Christian families to make reading a Bible story a habit within days of welcoming your baby home. Here are just a few of our favorite bible story books for newborns through to early toddlers. I hope that these toddler Bibles will help you and your children to dive in and learn God’s truth from the very beginning. And if I missed any good Bibles for toddlers, please feel free to comment below and let me know! I’d love to keep adding to this list as I find new ones. 🙂 Learn how to raise Godly Kids

So if the children of the Bible die all the time, where do we see God enabling children to be saved for life? Brueggeman finds a third metaphor in the idea of the courageous midwives who risk everything defying Pharaoh by saving rather than killing the firstborn Hebrew children. 5 Midwives oversee births, watching over them and bringing children safely into our world. So God, too, is the caring midwife of all of us, guiding us through our lives, making it possible to respond to our personal calling to be human with a ‘yes’ to God of our own volition. These are really fun and engaging for toddlers and even though the stories are very short (a few sentences) and don’t have very much depth, they help to keep toddlers interested and still teach them about key concepts that happen within each Bible story.

New Testament Bible Stories for Kids

Here’s where the rubber meets the road! Does your selected toddler Bible actually engage said toddler? Today I’m sharing some of our favorite Bible options for kids and families. Bibles for Family Bible Time (Mixed Ages)

In fact, Scripture remains deeply relevant and helpful in answering these questions as we navigate our own children through today’s world. We find children in the Bible who elucidate God’s nature so that we can gain a richer understanding of what God wants for them and what God asks of us as parents and carers. In particular, we can discover five important biblical themes about God’s relationship with children. We find that God calls children, saves children, commissions them, heals them and blesses them. How does God call children? For our family Bible time, we pull from all of the Bibles below for different seasons, stories, and purposes. However, overall, we mostly use a full-text translation of the Bible. At other times, our go-to choice is The Child’s Story Bible by Catherine Vos(ours is an updated version of the 1935 original).Ministry-To-Children.com helps you tell kids about Jesus by providing age-appropriate Bible study material and Sunday School curriculum – all 100% free online. This parable for children, written by the author of Crazy Love, is a wonderful portrayal of how we function best when following the Bible, which God has given us as our “instruction manual for life.” The story tells about a village who plows a field by having all of the villagers push and pull the tractor, not knowing that it could actually run by itself until someone finds the instruction manual in the attic. Just the like the tractor, we can achieve our true potential with God’s help when we look to our instruction manual (the Bible)!
