I have just-slimmer-than-average feet and skinny calves, but I have tried this pattern on a range of women with different feet and calve shapes, and they have fit quite well (yay, stretch! Nylon was indeed invented in NYC but the name (warning: letdown ahead) is just randomly chosen letters, ending in ‘on’ as most fabrics were. I have a really hard time wearing nice shoes (the kind I’d wear to work or for an interview) without nylons/tights.

I live in fear of looking like a fuddy-duddy, but I’d rather look old fashioned than be hobbling around in pain. Now I understand it’s cultural and depends on which side of the pond you actually are (with local variations, even).I completely agree with Mellie Bellie that the risk calculus has shifted because so few people care about this anymore–including me, for everything except literal jury trials.

Dream stress, please could you enlighten me on which fabric you have used for this tutorial and the white ones in your photo? I am gearing up for an interview next week and was considering wearing a dress, despite usually going the jacket route.
