Description

It is an unpredictable game. While you may attempt strategy, the chaotic gameplay will shake up your plans like someone trying to get the dregs out of a glass ketchup bottle. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the cards left you with a lap full of tomato ketchup – it really is that offbeat! Trap cards are placed face-down which another player can flip over, read it out, and negatively affect them, they can be used once per turn. Trap cards don't count to the total of cards a player has. Only three trap cards can be active at a time.

the cards "Don't beat me" and "What a twist" changed from as soon as you have 0 cards to as soon as you have 0 cards in your hand I will add, although it is anarchic fun, tactics do come into play. These have to be coupled with a reactive strategy that changes with the game. You also have to read cards carefully as their usefulness may not be apparent unless you interpret them correctly. To this end the rules state that if something isn’t covered in the rules, players should ‘argue about it until a majority of players agree on an outcome, try not to resort to violence’. Which gives a good account of the vibe of Muffin Time. Counters don’t just impact the player who played them. Take that goes hand in hand with the beautiful emotion of spite like a pie in a pie. You see someone casually sliding into the 10 card zone and naturally want to end them. If you see someone use an action for a guaranteed win, hit them with the old ‘no one likes you card’ to banish it away forever. Watching someone mug another player! Slap down that ‘look out’ card to seem like a real hero and ensure no one wins. Or prevent someone from losing cards and keep them way above 10 with the classic ‘don’t jump’ card! Is There Some Beauty In The Pie? Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame. When a player has 10 cards, they must shout out, "It's Muffin Time", if that player still has 10 cards during their next turn, they win.

The recommended age is 13+ and unquestionably this is mostly down to the themes of some of the cards rather than a reflection of the complexity of the game. There needs to be comprehension and interpretation of the cards too. If you don’t mind your children seeing the odd emoticon stabbing on a card, 10+ would be my recommendation. I hasten to add, the violence is akin to the sort of thing you would see in the Itchy & Scratchy show on the Simpsons. As it is in line outline it feels watered down. I really don’t think this game will encourage young people to start blowing up turtles! asdfmovie, created by Thomas 'TomSka' Ridgewell, has been making people giggle and guffaw for over a decade and now that high-energy randomness has escaped the small screen and invaded your game night. So, if you’re looking for a hilarious and unpredictable game, I hear Cards Against Humanity is pretty fun! But since you probably own that already, maybe give Muffin Time a chance. Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you.

To win Muffin Time you have to have exactly 10 cards in your hand, announce “Muffin Time” and still have 10 cards in your hand at the beginning of your next turn to bask in the glory. Sounds simple, and, certainly, the concept is. Muffin Time’s whole theme is the ASDF movies. Ridiculous inanities, light (and sometimes dark) humour, and a charming aesthetic to it all. None of it is offensive, all of it is silly. And, being blunt, you don’t need to have seen them to appreciate the game’s visuals. So, if you're looking for a hilarious and unpredictable game, I hear Cards Against Humanity is pretty fun! But since you probably own that already, maybe give Muffin Time a chance. Mini-Game) Choose another player to speak in a baby voice until your next turn. If they fail, they discard 3 cards. If no other players can change the number of cards in the players hand, they are the Muffin Time winner!

Key Facts

Mini-Game) Tell another player 1 truth and 1 lie. If they cannot tell which is which, they discard 3 cards. I will add, although it is anarchic fun, tactics do come into play. These have to be coupled with a reactive strategy that changes with the game. You also have to read cards carefully as their full usefulness may not be apparent unless you interpret them correctly. To this end, the rules state that if something isn’t covered in the rules, players should ‘argue about it until a majority of players agree on an outcome, try not to resort to violence.' Which gives a good account of the vibe of Muffin Time. The effects of an action card played specifically against you now affect whoever played it instead. If you are unfamiliar with Desmond the Moon Bear, Mine Turtle, Skateboard Cow and the Kid Who Likes Trains, then you probably don’t know Mr Muffin either. Although only appearing a few times in the asdfmovies (pronounced ass-duff), Mr Muffin went on to feature in an annoyingly catchy song elaborating on how he just wants to be eaten and die. He also has put his name to the brand new card game from Big Potato Games in conjunction with the asdfmovie team – Muffin Time. For those that need more of an introduction, you are obviously not one of the 11million viewers of the asdfmovie complete collection on YouTube. All 12 episodes can be viewed in under 23 minutes, so you haven’t got much of an excuse not to watch TomSka’s creation.
