I never read this book when I was younger so it was a refreshing and nice and easy book to listen to while I got on with things. who was jaquline wilsons childhood hero) and about the long walk she took in Richmond park on a school trip with her Teacher boy that headmaster must of been angry. I felt sorry for her when her Dad, Harry got into these terrible rants, and when Biddy, her Mom was forever telling her to pull her stomach in. Jacqueline Wilson, Britain’s Children’s Laureate, takes a look back at her own childhood in this captivating story of friendships, loneliness, books, toys, parents and much more.

It was so sweet to pull this off my shelf and read one of my favourite children’s author’s autobiography. I really wanted to enjoy this book, I remember loving Jacqueline Wilson and so I thought reading about her life from an adult's perspective would be amazing. It was really insightful to learn about her past, and the time she grew up in, and all about her family and schooling and friends. With her usual deceptive cleverness, Wilson has made Jacky Daydream very easy to read, yet it is a book with depth and complexity actually suitable for a wide range of readers .

Now she takes a frank and captivating look at her own childhood in this warm and moving autobiography. Many youngsters will relate to the story of Floss, who loves both her parents dearly and desperately wants them to get back together. However for me I was just left disappointed, the book is obviously meant for children (I mean why wouldn't it be, she is a children's author) but I just found that it didn't go into enough detail for it to be enjoyable.

Therefore I would definitely say be wary going into this book, it is short and you can probably get through it quite quickly however it may just miss the mark for some of us who are probably a little older than the intended demographic. The book came with a tiny bend at the top right hand corner and the page layer had been slightly pulled so it's bent and you can visabley see the book is a little damaged. She tells us that when her mum picks her up for the first time she says ” she’s just like i imagined” that makes her very happy.

Jacky Daydream is really special to me as Jacqueline Wilson is probably the best childrens author of all time, for me anyway. LOVE LESSONS has been longlisted for the Carnegie Medal in 2006 and is on the short list for the Long Novel section of the Highland Children's Book Award. Wilson's intimate, conversational style combined with a selection of childhood photographs and Nick Sharratt's familiar illustrations, makes this a delightfully satisfying read. From the very first story she wrote, "Meet the Maggots", it was clear that this little girl had a very vivid imagination. The thing that really made the book for me though was the photos throughout of her growing up, her family and her friends.
